A Year (or Two) at the Top

No, this isn't a tribute to a sitcom starring Paul Shaffer and Greg Evigan that was DOA, but a recognition that a World Series title creates two great years:

  1. The one you win
  2. The one you get to play while being reigning champs

As the Giants are about to officially pass the crown on, I thought it would be a nice time to share our thoughts and thanks for what we just got to experience.

Dear Giants,

As a devoted fan since 1971 (who was born during the World Series in 1962), I have shared many high and low points of SF Giants history.  2010 was unbelievably special.  Part of it was just finally getting to see you win it all after such a long wait.  Part of it was the self-named Misfits and their improbable run to the finish.  Part of it was the tremendous feeling of team, and "playing for each other" as the fellas said.  And part of it was the joy of feeling San Francisco come alive and drink in the celebration for the stretch run and beyond.  This was why we stick it out!

It was unforgettable.  Thanks and congrats to everyone who made it possible.
