I'll start

The best Halloween candy: almost anything that’s chocolate AND peanut butter

The worst Halloween candy: those nasty wax lips with the glop inside!

Best costume you’ve ever seen or worn: my mom dressed up like a tube of toothpaste one year she used a lamp shade for her hat/lid

Favorite Halloween movie/special: Charlie Brown of course! It’s the Great Pumpkin!!

Favorite Halloween music: Midnight Syndicate has some creepy instrumental only stuff that I’ve used in my classroom in the past. Scary enough to be scary, but not terrifying.

Season’s readings: I found a copy of Dracula for 99¢ today, I forgot how long that book is!

We’re not dressing up this year.

Adopted Giant: Eddie I Have It Grant.

I have some Midnight Syndicate stuff

It’s really good and we use it as part of our haunted house.

So I guess this means the Phillies making it past the 1st round of the 2010 post season was a fluke.

ah

I see they’ve discovered that they can make those damned Reeses’ Christmas trees in the shape of pumpkins. It’s a good thing they sell them in boxes of six so I can get just enough to wolf down in one sitting.

Mr. Merope says his best costume was his kindergarten costume. His dad’s store had a promo display for beer and part of the display was a largish cardboard beer can, large enough for a five year to wear.
So he went to school dressed as a beer can!

Good gravy, these days that’d be an automatic CPS referral.

The worst Halloween candy: Whatever may taste like black licorice.
Best costume you’ve ever seen or worn: A Giants player!

Candy corn is the worst candy independent of the time of year.

I’m thinking about watching through the Phantasm movies on of these upcoming days. Been a while.

This year I’ll be dressed as poorly disguised Clark Kent. I think the Superman character is dumb and boring but I think the idea of putting on thick glasses to hide your identity is hilarious. Adding snaps to an old dress shirt, adding a "press card’ to a fedora, kind of lame Superman long sleeve shirt and throwing on the hipster glasses are the main ingredients to the costume. Should be dumb!

by chilibean_3 on Oct 18, 2011 2:43 PM PDT reply actions

Candy corn is the best! It’s one of my favorite parts of Halloween.

The best Halloween candy: Reese’s cups, but they’re good anytime.

The worst Halloween candy: Mary Janes (the orange-and-black, wax paper-wrapped balls of gunk). They are awful.

Best costume you’ve ever seen or worn: In 2005, I fabricated a U.S. Constitution costume made of big sheets of foam, covered in fabric. On the fabric I transcribed portions of the Constitution.

Favorite Halloween movie/special: It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

Favorite Halloween music: “Go Cubs Go”

Season’s readings: I don’t typically read Halloween-themed books. But I guess a good one would be Howliday Inn. I loved that series as a kid.

And finally… are you dressing up this year and if so… as what? This year, I’m going as a member of the Tennessee Smokies.

I’m here to kick ass and drink sweet tea, and dammit, I’m all out of sweet tea.

I'm a Halloween nut

The best Halloween candy: Butterfinger

The worst Halloween candy: Candy Corn

Best costume you’ve ever seen or worn: A guy I used to work with made a Popemobile out of painted cardboard and celophane. He was dressed as the pope and inside the celofane “booth” and it had a little dummy in the driver’s seat, tires, etc. The whole thing fit over him and was powered by his legs. He walked around the office building all day waiving his little hankie from inside the popemobile.

Favorite Halloween movie/special: Can’t pick one.

Favorite Halloween music: Bach Toccata and Fuge (Orignial “Phantom of the Opera”)

Season’s readings: Um.

And finally… are you dressing up this year and if so… as what? Vampire

So I guess this means the Phillies making it past the 1st round of the 2010 post season was a fluke.

The worst Halloween candy: Candy Corn

Best costume you’ve ever seen or worn: Fully lit Tron Suit

Favorite Halloween movie/special: Ummm either Charlie Brown, or Hocus Pocus

Favorite Halloween music: There is music?

Season’s readings: NO TRESPASSING/NO SOLICITORS

And finally… are you dressing up this year and if so… as what? I will either be dressed as a 26 year old male who is home alone handing out candy to no one, or dressed as a boy scout. Maybe I will put on a cape. Nothing says “classy halloween” like a nice cape.

The worst Halloween candy: Those things that look like peanuts that are squared off on one side and that taste like styrofoam. Or candy corn.

Best costume you’ve ever seen or worn: Best hubby & I have worn in recent years was Adam (him) and Jamie (me) from the Mythbusters.

Favorite Halloween movie/special: Great Pumpkin

Favorite Halloween music: “Headless Horseman” as sung by Thurl Ravenscroft

Season’s readings: various books by Chris Moore

The best Halloween candy: Kit Kat!

The worst Halloween candy: everything that’s not chocolate.

Best costume you’ve ever seen or worn: For a while this last decade all my friends would dress up as each other. This was not prompted, we just did it for like five years straight. Anyway, one year I dressed up as one of my pregnant musician friends and jumped up onstage with (a different friends’) band and played tambourine for their last song and then “gave birth” at the end of the song. Two days later, my friend gave birth. I have a pic around somewhere with my pregnant friend and me.

Favorite Halloween movie/special: “Charlie Brown, if you got an invitation, it was a mistake. There were two lists, Charlie Brown: one to invite, and one not to invite. You must have been put on the wrong list.”

Favorite Halloween music: “Bela Lugosi’s Dead”

Season’s readings: ???

And finally… are you dressing up this year and if so… as what? NOPE.

The worst Halloween candy: dumb peppermint things were the ante

Best costume you’ve ever seen or worn: In college, the costume I received the most love for was Jay and Silent Bob. I was silent bob, and I didn’t speak all night. My buddy and I stood outside a liquor store in Isla Vista (santa barbara) all night and posed for pics w/the world. I recommend it!

Favorite Halloween movie/special: Ralph loves Lisa

Favorite Halloween music: Monster Mash (see above)

Season’s readings: school stuff

And finally… are you dressing up this year and if so… as what? Nada. But my g/f looks like America Ferrera, so I wanted to dress her and her friend up as Ugly Betty characters.
