You can donate to have a "Giants 2010 Champs: Beat LA" banner flown over Chavez Ravine on opening day
My die-hard Giants fan boss pointed this out last night. The levels of donation are $20 for "Timmy's Doobie Fund" to $500 for the Say Hey Kid and everything in between. Here's the direct link:

Enjoy, y'all. I know McC can make this happen.

Yeah, it's been discussed on a couple other threads
For some reason, I just don’t think this is awesome.
The thong is, it happened.

It’s awesome alright — just manufactured awesome, which is only half as cool as naturally occurring awesome. (Kind of like how money won is twice as sweet as money earned)

:-)
Manufactured or not, awesome or not, I’m adding it to my list of things I won’t spend my hard-earned (or hard-won) money on.
Autographs is another.
The thong is, it happened.
Yeah
I never really saw the point of autographs either — or maybe I’m just still bitter from John Elway refusing to sign for an innocent, impressionable, young Josh from Hollywood (then Josh from Palo Alto) outside Stanford Stadium after pummeling his dad’s San Jose Spartans in 1982.

I actually kinda like autographs
But not if I have to pay the person or buy an autograph that someone else got.
To me, the fun is in meeting the person. I got a kick out of getting a few Giants to sign my jersey before the parade
The thong is, it happened.
This
My entire autograph collection (which is small, TBH) came from me getting signatures from the players.
I suppose I can understand the reasoning behind paing money to own a piece of history, or getting something while the player is relatively unknown, and hoping for a bigger return. I just don’t partake.
I came, I saw, I told bad jokes and left.
Whoops! I looked, but saw nothing. Thanks for not piling on me with “ALREADY POSTED FFS JESUS JAY”
Still backing Notgardo, wheresoever he may wander. (Don't forget to wriiiite!)

Regardless of awesomeness, it's something that needs to be done
to atone for all the bandwagon, Manny dread wearing fans in dodger blue who have infested AT&T over the past couple of years, 2008 i think was the worst and also the year they clinched the west on our field (06?)
Can’t they just drop something from the plane instead?

I like it.
This is how the nation will usher in the 2011 season, and they will get to see what a real rivalry looks like. I don’t view this as “manufactured” in any way. Just like a lot of things last season, this is something devised by fans, and supported by fans via word of mouth. I look forward to it.
I had a similar idea in that, if I won that $300 mil jackpot a few months ago, I was going to find the closest billboard to Chavez Ravine, and post a picture of the Giants’ on-field celebration. Unfortunately, I did not win.
Monday Monkey lives for the weekend, sir.
