I just wanted to share the joys and thrills that so many New Yorkers who continued to root for or, in my case, started rooting for the SF Giants as a kid growing up in The Bronx falling in love with Mays, Marichal and McCovey over Mantle, Maris and some guy named Whitey.
Many of us went to the NY Hilton and had our picture taken with the trophy, share conversations with other New York based Giants fans and in my case got to share brief conversations with Larry Baer and Brian Sabean.
The Giants organization handed us slick buttons with the SF and NY Giants logos in orange against a black background with the phrase, "World Series Champions 1954/2010. Mine is pinned on my winter jacket and the whole event created such a energizing vibe that I walked home from 53rd Street all the way home to Harlem where I live and where the NY Giants called home for so many years.
Thanks SF Giants and I like so many are looking forward to the SF Giants against The Mets the first week in May where we will be wearing our caps, hooded SF Giants sweatshirts, and of course our slick buttons.
