Around SBN: Ellenberger vs. Sanchez Heats Up, Hughes Talks Retirement

Donations for Padre losses gladly accepted!

So my in-laws are die-hard Padres fans because they all have lived in San Diego practically since the franchise started. I have slowly but surely begun the conversion process on my wife; she claims to root for both teams unless they are playing each other, but she also LOVES Aubrey Huff, for many of the sexy-in-a-baseball-way reasons that female McCoven have listed elsewhere on this site.

Recently, her parents went on a ten day trip for their anniversary, and the Padres promptly lost ten straight while they were gone. They returned yesterday, and said losing streak was snapped.

Anyone interested in contributing to see how long we can get them to go on vacation in September? This week, perhaps?

Poll
Are you willing and able to send breadfan7's in-laws on another extended trip to help secure a division victory for the Giants?
I would love to contribute all of my personal wealth, as well as that of those close to me. See my email with relevant Paypal passwords.

The Giants don't need my money...or yours. They've got magic in this thing and will win the division fine on their own.

Really made me think

Poll questions are usually easily answered, but I could have easily picked just about anyone of those.

Also, how’s this for a meme: Send breadfan7’s in-laws on vacation!

I wanted to split my vote. . .

. . .until I saw “Suck it Russell Martin”

I’m guessing that Martin will be sucking it for some other team in ‘11. He made $5.5 million this season, and is due for a raise simply because salaries are tied more to service time than production. The Dodgers are smart enough and cheap enough that they won’t be spending the $7M or so that it will take to retain S.I.R.M., especially when comparable production is available from the likes of Rod Barajas at a quarter of the cost.

I’m pretty certain SIRM’s early career success was chemically enhanced.

So now even the LOLdgers are gonna tell him to Suck It?

I’m afraid I cannot stand behind a LOLdger supported meme.

It is an interesting concept...

How far does our hatred extend to Dodgers when they are no longer officially on the Bums’ payroll?

Guillermo Mota has been an interesting exercise in this regard, but A SIRM-less Dodger team is a fascinating paradox.

Better to be a Giants fan than an Athletic supporter!

SIRM not being a LOLdger would put him up a peg in my book. That's peg 1.

I stole this joke from a movie but cannot remember which one.

One of the best things about SiRM. . .

. . .is that his chemically enhanced performance during his first couple of seasons convinced the Dodger front office that they were set at catcher for the next 5 to 10 years. Hence, Santana was expendable. Hence, Giants fans should actually love this otherwise worthless piece of *#%=

That would be so awesome.

I feel prickishly demanding!

I couldn't be prouder of my recent adoptee - Tim Lincecum's dealer. He provides the secret fuel behind both Cy Youngs. Also, he taught Timmy the change-up.
