Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

Sure, earlier in the day, the Grizzlies were officially eliminated from the playoffs. Sure, Decker's playoff efficiency streak ended. Sure, we are talking about Velez.

Still.

A grand slam to walk off the game in extra innings.

That's just cool. Can't lose sight of that, as jaded in the muck as many of us become.

Good job, E-V.

Finley can’t hurt the Giants anymore. Velez can.

Bonds stands alone.

I’d rather have Velez than Guillen. Is that weird?

by Hobbes2d on Sep 4, 2010 2:27 PM PDT reply actions

At least Velez appears to be average or better than average in the OF. And since they both stink at hitting, yeah, I guess I would rather have Zorak too. Very strange to be typing those words… maybe it’s all the sun I just got.

Guillen is a competent batter.

Utter frustration and futility.

wow, a pro Velez line of talk and I didn’t start it!
Velez can piss you off, that’s true. But Guillen risks every single game with his fielding, and makes all pitchers constantly worried.
OK, maybe Eugenio does that too. But he probly wouldn’t start games at this point. We’d get Ross/Ishikawa probably, with Huff alternating 1st and OF, and that sounds like a nice combo.

Hate to say this but I’d rather see Velez play every day than Guillen.

I'd take Hitler, not even close .

Being that I’m not Jewish, gypsy, gay, or disabled, Nazi Germany was a much nicer place to live than Stalin’s Russia.
