I mean, obviously that’s a matter for debate that we won’t resolve – you also never know if Zito is going to walk two guys to lead off the inning like we’ve seen him do before even though he’s been on a roll. But personally, I’ll take my chances with our bullpen, which has been lights out. I treat Zito more like a 6 inning or 100 pitches guy.

I think what’s happening with the team, is one they get a run or two, they loosen up, and take pitches, are calmer at the plate, and it shows. When a pitcher starts getting ahead of us, they start pressing, and it all goes to hell.

It’s the second game of a doubleheader in the dog days at Shea Stadium. Pirates catcher Ott, this anvil of a man, barrels into the wispy Millan at second base to break up a double play. A scuffle ensues and Ott picks Millan up and body-slams him, breaking his collarbone.
