San Jose: RF Francisco Peguero: 2 for 5
San Jose: C Johnny Monell: 2 for 5, HR, 2 SO, SB

San Jose: RP Jose Casilla: 1.0 IP
San Jose: RP Brian Anderson: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 K
The Giants' offense was led by Monell and Adrianza, who had two hits each. Monell homered, and Adrianza also drew a walk to reach base three times. Peguero and Biery also had two hits each, while the other five Giants in the starting lineup had one hit each.
Fitzgerald, who was among the league leaders (top ten) in ERA in the season's first half but then fell off that pace in the second half, had his second straight dominant playoff start. He has allowed just 1 ER in 14.0 IP over his two playoff starts, as well as just 2 ER over his last four starts going back to August 31. In this start, he struck out a third of the 27 batters faced. Casilla and Anderson completed the shutout, although the latter did allow a couple baserunners.

Peguero’s having a heck of a post-season a year after having been the Cal League Championship Series MVP. There was a story on MiLB.com about him playing for a repeat championship, and it got me wondering if he’s played for the championship of some league every year in his professional career.
In 2008 he split time between SK and Augusta, both of which won their league championships. I think he was on the Augusta roster in the playoffs, but can’t find confirmation. In 2007, he was on a DSL team that definitely played for their league championship and I think won it. And in 2006, I can’t remember whether the Giants DSL team went to the championship game or not.
MiLB has recently cleared out all the old back logged box scores from years past so I can’t go in through the scoreboard calendar function to find the old games like I used to, and my memory doesn’t seem to be enough.
My Bucardo is better than yours.
A hot August weekday, before a small crowd, when the only thing at stake is the tissue-thin difference between a thing done well and a thing done ill. Insofar as the clutch hitter is not a sportswriter's myth, it is a vulgarity, like a writer who writes only for money.
