Rooting for Jose Casilla to take his K- and GB-inducing skills to the majors and join his brother.
I kinda want first place all to ourselves for a day, then have SD win the next two. The Rockies go out on a 10-game trip after this series, so a 2-1 series for SD is my hope. I just don’t want anyone getting swept

i mean, we’ll have 1st all to ourselves for the rest of the season tomorrow, but I’d like it to start today.
Ah, what the hell. I don’t care who wins.

So I've been doing some deep thinking
And I’ve come to the conclusion, that if I was a Padres fan I would hate life.
"Catch that, Eckstein!" - Duane Kuiper
Nah
Maybe 2010, but I’d feel pretty hopeful about the future. In some ways, the 2010 Padres remind me of the 2009 Giants.
They could be Giants...but not really.
Hmm. And I guess you’d have pretty bad broadcasters…and a mascot that looked like Gargamel…
They could be Giants...but not really.
My thought is more gruesome: I think the best “story” for the Giants’ ever winning a World Series would be beating in the Dodgers in a 7-game NLCS followed by a win over the Yankees. How masochistic am I?

What I fear:
Unless they’ve been done and I missed ’em, I fear the arbitrary coin flip that leads us to playing a one-game playoff in Colorado
If we get Cuzzi all we need to do is make a good attempt at a tag.
"Catch that, Eckstein!" - Duane Kuiper
we would be 1 up on SD, division all to ourselves, 2.5 up on COL if not for that fucker fucking us the fuck over. FUCK
by giant4life83 on Sep 13, 2010 4:39 PM PDT up reply actions
hmm we are 7-8 vs. Colorado with 3 left to play. if we went 2-1 in our final series there, i would have to believe a coin flip would then become the tiebreaker.
better then losing the head to head and not getting a chance

Thanks for nothing rest of NL
Scott Hairston injured his shoulder in batting practice today and was scratched. Denorfia replaces him in lineup. Denorfia goes 5-for-4 with a triple and 12 RBI.

2-0 Padres
Tejada homers with a man on…unbelievable…
Of course, this just mean the Roxs have pulled out the non-humidor balls
this is proof that the HRs at Coors are bullshit. The pads couldn’t do shit against anyone for weeks, go to Coors, and score more runs in one half inning than they did in the final 2 games against us.
by giant4life83 on Sep 13, 2010 5:55 PM PDT up reply actions
i cant wait until they go on the road and lose 3 of 10 b/c they dont have Coors

Be happy you don't have to listen to Drew Goodman.
He’s a Colorado sports fixture. Like nails on a blackboard.
blah blah east coast bias
but Price vs. Sabathia has been pretty awesome so far.
Mark DeRosa, still existing.

Looking at the scores
I hate that for the next 3 days, the Phillies face Miller, Mendez and a pitcher not named Josh Johnson; the Braves face Maya, Livo and Lannan; and the Giants face Kershaw, Billingsley and Lilly. =\
They could be Giants...but not really.
Quality of opposing pitching, for whatever reason
Has never really seemed to affect our performance – we get shut out by shit pitchers and chase Aces early… I never worry too much about the opposing pitcher.
Wow, that’s absolutely ridiculous.

Look at the positive.
Both teams are already into their bullpens. This game has potential.
Plus, the Rockies have to score if the game is going to go to the 17th inning.
Rooting for Jose Casilla to take his K- and GB-inducing skills to the majors and join his brother.
Well, both teams went to the ‘pen early. I guess there’s that.
Man, San Diego’s bullpen must be shredded right now. It seemed like they were used pretty heavily when we played them this last series, and the starter tonight doesn’t make it through 5.

So was there ever a consensus?
Should we root for the Rockies or the Padres?
we just cant have either team sweep. i figure i want COL to win 2 of 3, b/c they go on a 10-game trip after this
by giant4life83 on Sep 13, 2010 8:40 PM PDT up reply actions
I am far, far, far more scared of the Rockies than the Padres. I wouldn’t even care if the Pads swept, but ideally it would be taking 2 of 3.
youre probably right, but what im afraid of is the padres getting back to playing the kind of ball they played when the dinks and bloops were happening.
that may be over though- they appear to have run out of pixie dust
