What if we hadn't played the Padres...?

Y'all have probably already considered this but for those who hadn't noticed...

Season to date record (as of 1:30pm on August 21, 2010):

Season to date record (as of 1:30pm on August 21, 2010) excluding games played against one another:

  • Padres:     64-46
  • Giants :     67-45

I haven't looked into strength of schedule metrics or anything else but I thought this was telling.  This means that if we can beat the Padres down the stretch then... we win the division.  It's just. that. easy.
