Brock remains one of my favorites in the system, and one of the more underrated prospects. He’s not as bad on defense as some here have him, and he has a pair of excellent tools (batting average, on-base percentage), which help to offset a lack of power. I just want to see him get more efficient on the bases.

Totally agree
I see him as a starting 2B, and I really don’t get why the hell other people are claiming his ceiling is a utility infielder. If Freddy Sanchez, ye of no power, no OBP, and good average, can be as successful as he has been, then Bond and his .400 OBP can. Hell, if Nick Johnson can get $5M as a DH for the Yankees considering all he does is walk, why can’t Bond start at a more valuable position?
Ain't no Posey like a Buster Posey cause a Buster Posey don't stop...hitting.

I want to agree with you guys
but I tend to think Sanchez was a bit better in milb than Bond. I may be wrong. Here are Sanchez’s numbers:

Depends if Decker ever gets a shot as manager.
Bond is a favorite of his, and Decker enjoys playing him. It was Decker who got Bond promoted from the AZL despite having a poor performance to play with him in S-K, and Bond has done well ever since.

I like Decker
I’d like to see him become a manager, but I don’t see the team giving him a chance to manager anytime soon either.

Slightly OT, but on the recent BA podcast where they were talking about the Best Tools issue, John Manual mentioned that at the Futures Game he had to go up to Decker and let him know how much he missed having him in the Eastern League. Seems Manual covers the EL for the tools issue and prospect lists, and Decker was one of the people he most relied on for scouting reports and the manager whose view of players abilities he most respected. Especially with catching prospects but more so with any player he saw frequently enough to have formed an opinion on, according to Manual “if Decker had something to say about a player, I listened.”
And all this came right on the heels of talking about how “not all manager’s opinions are created equally” and how sometimes the managers give the lazy opinion (e.g., best defensive 1b = best hitting 1b).
My Bucardo is better than yours.
A hot August weekday, before a small crowd, when the only thing at stake is the tissue-thin difference between a thing done well and a thing done ill. Insofar as the clutch hitter is not a sportswriter's myth, it is a vulgarity, like a writer who writes only for money.
Anyone have any video of Bond?
I’ve never seen his swing nor his D, which are the two biggest questions I have in regard to his value.
Aaron King is still my homeboy... iffy mechanics and all
McFAQ for all you newcomers out there.
YEA BROCK BOND!!!! MAKE IT TO THE MAJORS
His name is Bond, Brock Bond, and his adopted father? ME, any questions?
Another thing to really love about Bond: in a system full of players with BB/K ratios around .30, Bond’s sits at a lovely 1.18. I think he might be the only guy besides Posey to have walked more than he Kd in our system this year.

A high OBP guy who walks a lot? I can see him being a good number 2 guy to set the table.

Q: Did you ever make an offer for Vladimir Guerrero?
Sabean: In a word: No. If we had signed Guerrero or [Gary] Sheffield, we would have been without [Long list of replacement level vets]—obviously not being able to field a competitive team, especially from an experience standpoint, given our level of spending.
