When Our Jonathan said, "And we shall sweep these Madres and we shall then proceed not to look back at them, nor at any other (Jon 8:8: 5pm)." he spoke figuratively. You are educated people. You know that he could not have meant a literal "sweep," three straight victories over an opponent blessed by a dark lord. You know that everyone looks back in life. Even Our Barry has recently looked back and wished "things hadn't happened." Brother BusterFPosey no doubt regrets the swings at outside breaking pitches that resulted in two hoppers to first basemen, but two hoppers to first basemen is the fate of these Giants, and their fate is what they have.
Let us embrace Jonathan's real meaning: Our sweep of the Madres will be spiritual. The triumph will occur over time. And we will meet in eternity . . . sometime in October.
