After yesterday's most "eff yeah!" game of the season and the conclusion of one of the most satisfying months a Giants fan could ever ask for, I got to thinking about how grim things looked during the 7-game losing streak. Need a reminder? check out the July 2 Post-game thread
Natto's opening of the thread was awesome:
We'd chuckle and think, "I don't remember that happening. How about that." I envy our future selves.
Some believe that to truly know pleasure, you must first know pain. If that's true, then this current run the Giants are on is right up there with sex.
Here's some of my favorite comments from the thread:
"It's over. Giants are officially dead."
"The Giants have been dead since before last night"
"RIP 2010 Giants"
"There is no way this team in beating Jimenez the way they are playing right now."
"Looking forward to watching the second half with no expectations of any success. Liberating, in a way."
"We’re not going to the playoffs this year. Not even close."
"This team wouldn’t be going anywhere with a different manager either."
"Wow we are out of it and it's not even halfway through the season yet"
"If only this team had the balls to go into ful firesale mode. I bet we could get a nice haul from the Angels for Huff. I bet we could get a nice prospect from Philly for Uribe with Utley out."
"huff (adam laroche lite, will regress)"
"I just have no desire to watch this team play anymore. What is there to watch? It’s the same junk over and over."
"I’m so glad the Giants timed this to coincide with my being crazy-busy and stressed, and thus I’ve only had to sit through one of these horrible games."
