Post-game thread: Giants get abused by Ubal...wait, what?

So that's the game I decide not to watch. The one with the fireworks and the grand slams and home runs and the offense. Almost halfway through the season, and this the first game I ignore. Fine. Well, here's what I have to say to that:

Suck it, Ubaldo. Think about this one at midnight for the next six weeks

That is all.

If this were against any other team and didn't come after losing 7 straight

I would be kind of pissed about this game. As it is, I will take it.

I know Rollins is back off from the DL.

And last I checked, he was at least second in votes (Hanley at 1?) at SS thanks to LOL idiot voters who didn’t see he spent most of this season on the DL.

If Manuel doesn’t see Rollins get voted in, there are good odds that he might put him on the last man ballot. Though… I won’t be surprised if the fans vote in Matt Cain 2.0— err, I mean Strasburg— as the last man.

That the only pitch that requires double acceptation is a fastball: once for pitch type and once for location. The pitcher has to take care to accept or refuse the combination, not each individually, else the batter knows it must be a fastball coming.

Zambrano’s contract is worse than Rowand’s and it’s for a year more. Rowand really isn’t as bad as he’s been this year, and the team already has a metric fuckton of cash they’re throwing at their rotation in a few years. Zambrano seems to be exactly the kind of deal the Giants don’t need and shouldn’t try to acquire.

Well, it goes without saying that I’d only do it if the Cubs kicked in at least half of the difference (if not the whole difference)

Both contracts end in ‘12 though, iirc. Zambrano’s has a vesting option that’s not likely to vest.

Some more

1. We were losing when Bochy was tossed, and we won. Wotus gets the win.
2. Zito should be ashamed of himself for blowing a 7-1 lead. Giants needed a stopper tonight and he let them down , even with tons of support.
3. Ubaldo said he noticed a flaw in his last two starts and he corrected it. Yeah, right.
4. I know he’s going to get re-signed to a stupid extension, but I love Aubrey Huff. Keep chanting his name, dumb Rockie fans.
5. I was surprised he pulled Affeldt with the lefty due up. Considering Gonzalez was killing them and had two HR’s in the series against lefties, it was the right move.
6. I hope Dexter Fowler and Jonathan Herrera get in a car crash leaving the stadium. Not fatal, just out for the year.
7. More Zito. No Tulo, no Helton, no Hawpe, no Seth Smith and you get creamed by a lineup that had Melvin Mora hitting fourth? Mevin Mora? I think we have an answer to the question “who is a player that has hit cleanup that is worse than Bengie Molina?”
8. Juan Uribe is finally becoming the player I thought he was when the Giants signed him last year. Can he hit behind Posey please!
9. Bengie Molina drew a walk tonight.

Bochy says Ishi is playing tomorrow, so Huff will be in the outfield. I have no problem with Burrell playing, it’s Rowand who should be sitting. I also think Buster will be catching, although I don’t think he came out and said it. I’m basing it on the meeting he had yesterday with the catchers and pitchers. I seriously doubt he would need a meeting to tell everyone that Eli will be catching more.

Bork: Okay, quiet down, except Timmeh you can keep talking about your dog. Now here’s the deal, first we need to get down on our knees and thank God that we had as much time as we did with Bengie Molina. None of you in this room except Timmeh will ever be that good (looks earnestly as Buster) and I don’t know how we are gonna get along without him. What, Timmeh, you have to go pee? sure go ahead. Now here’s what we’re gonna do. Eli and Buster are both well, valuable assets. So we will splitting the time according to reverse alphabetical order, just to be fair, so that means we have Eli catching in July, Buster in August and so on. Of course, we will review this plan around the first of August. Does anybody who wants to get any playing time have any objections to the plan? Okay, let’s go get em. Who are we playing?

Roy halladay already has 130 IP, he has two more starts before the ASB where he’ll probably end up with 7 innings each start. That will put him at 144 innings and assuming he goes deep in the second half trying to push the phillies into the playoffs, he could very well pitch over 300 innings. That’s a fucking crazy work load, dusty baker must gbe envious.

His era was 1.15 before his start against boston, now after his start in san diego and the drubbing he took from us today its 2.27. Regressions a bitch, I expect him to end the year with a ERA somewhere in the 3’s judging on how coors field plays in the summer.

Thing is, i really like rappers for how they rap, not the beats or anything, pretty much why i like Lil wayne or someone like Eminem, or even Cudi, and definitely B.o.B

Lil Wayne is fucking unbearable, ugh

Eminem and Cudi are the only mainstream rappers that are worth listening to in my opinion, but I might be too biased to give most mainstream a chance.

There’s alot of ultra talented underground rappers/rappers signed to small labels that are definitely worth checking out. Eyedea, Brother Ali, Slug, Blue Scholars, P.O.S. (personal favorite), MF DOOM, and the list goes on.

I didn’t really like his last album. All the Muslim fundamentalist shit gets old. Shadows on the Sun was probably my #1 or #2 album from 2000-2009 though.

More names for the list: Aesop Rock, Tech N9ne, CunninLynguists, Sage Francis, El-P. Also check out Dessa if you’re feeling adventurous (warning: female rapper)

Here’s the thing, Wayne CAN be unbearable, that’s your opinion, and i like him because he flows so well, and seriously, i like ALOT of underground rappers, but alot of em turned into mainstream, like B.o.B. Every rapper that’s mainstream were underground, they just had a hit song or a hit album to make it to where they are now.

Wayne is amazing, but what he did with his rock album bullshit is pathetic, it was really bad. Eminem has his raps that are just so meaningful, same with Cudi, who flows so well as well

Wayne’s songs are just too hit or miss for me. I probably should give him some of his more serious stuff a listen, but all of his radio hits/club music/whatever aren’t my taste.

Not real big on his voice either. It’s like what Eminem used to do, which was kind of annoying in my opinion.

Oh yea, definitely

he can be realllllly hit or miss for sure, like, his mainstream shit is bad, some of it is, that’s why i like just listening to the album, like i really thought “A millie” was his best, it was just him straight rapping. Same with “Tie my hands” kinda showed his willingness to step out and get into something different.

Yea, i hear ya with the voice thing, but yea, check those two songs out by lil wayne, i mean, they’re pretty straight, “i’m me” i really thought this is his best. “Mr. Carter” and “stuntin like my daddy”

This might be interesting:

I listed our position players by where they rank among their peers in the NL who are playing enough to be considered “regulars”. I had to cheat a bit, since some of the Giants’ newly established regulars (such as Burrell in LF) don’t themselves qualify as “regulars” by PA/G count, but anyway, here it is (this does not include results from the Saturday Night Massacre):

LF : 1
 C : 3
SS : 3
1B : 4
CF : 4
2B : 9
RF : 10
3B : 11

(The metric is my own TOP, but I daresay any total-offense metric—one which excludes defensive considerations, that is—would come out pretty much the same.)

I used FSanchez, Renteria, and Sandoval; Uribe is higher than FSanchez and Sandoval and lower than Renteria, but using him anywhere on the IF changes things only slightly.

I hope to do a fuller exposition in a day or so as a FanPost.

“The deal was not completed until the next day,” Bochy said. "Somehow with the guys’ computers and iPads, they got the news on that. But you can’t say anything until the deal is finalized. I told Bengie when we landed the deal was not completed.

Hrmmm.. somehow on the interwebs with all those tubes lincy, wilsy, cainy, ishi, told bengie he been traded.

So wait… when botchy got thrown out of the game maybe Wotus really was in charge. Apparently botchy doesn’t know how to use new fangled technology like cell phones.

He should be moved up, but Bork probably did it more because Uribe and Burrell aren’t playing.
