For all of the talk of Posey not being ready to catch in the Bigs, I find it amusing that they would give him one of his only starts at the position with a brand spanking new pitcher against a team that the club doesn’t know that well.
Wouldn’t you want your veteran presence back there for such a game?
That’s not what I meant by a brand spanking new pitcher. The problem is knowing what pitches to throw to the hitters (or so goes the Bork/Sabean logic). Accordingly, supposedly neither of these two would have a clue how to pitch the hitters today. A veteran pitcher would supposedly be able to wave off Posey to get to the correct pitch.
