Around SBN: UFC 146 Results: Junior dos Santos TKO's Frank Mir

He's playing for Class-A+ High Desert (Seattle Mariners org.) - playing against the San Jose Giants right now, in fact (see link above). They signed him a couple days ago.

I never noticed til now that his initials are close to Edgar Martinez's. Best of luck, EME.

Back in A+ ball?

Odd, Maybe they’ll promote him back to the PCL soon…?

I hope so. I hope this is the equivalent of a rehab assignment, giving him a few days to get his timing back after sitting at home for a week or so.

I don’t follow the AL closely… Seattle’s really bad, right? If EME gets moved up to Tacoma, he might have a legitimate shot at his cup of coffee.

Maybe

I mean EME does have some decent upside with his bat-he reminds me a little of Brian Dopirak. And a quick check of the Tacoma Rainiers roster reveals that they only have 3 OF’s so maybe he’ll go up there. I could see him at least getting a cup of coffee.

Why did we release him?

was he a 6 year MILB free agent? I used to mash with this dude in MLB 07 or whatever it was.

He wasn’t in the team’s plans, so they let him go and have a chance with another organization.

Cough...

Rowand.

Well, he’s off to a slow start with his new club, hitting .250 — 4 for 16, including one infield single last night.

Maybe he’ll have better luck against non-Giants pitching …? I have to admit, I’m rooting for him.

3B !

Not that anyone cares but me, but .. it looks like they’re even trying EME at 3B. It’s a wacky world.
