The Giants & Brian Wilson managed to hold the A's at bay in the 9th preserving a well deserved 7th win for Barry Zito who has continued his excellent pitching with no signs of stopping and expect more of the same. That's 12-6 since late last year in case no one noticed.. Thank god they didn't run him out of town! With the bases loaded in the top of the 8th, closer Brian Wilson was summoned and did he ever deliver. He threw a strikeout followed by a ground out escaping further damage and held onto a slim 1 run lead. He followed that with what looked like a breezy 9th only to have Jack Cust line a base hit with 2 out to put runners on the corners. Jack Cust was the final out on the next play which was a fielders choice. No need to say anymore. Brian Wilson walked away the hero of the day, period. Excellent relief performance. The Giants offense provided the necessary run support and their recent slump is now a distant memory as they're climbing up the ladder in the NL West. They have certainly put together an exciting team and the Panda hasn't even gotten hot yet..
