I think Pablo needs to go to Fresno. He’s not coming out of this slump until he gets his head straight and he is proving that he is not going to get his head straight by constantly swinging at balls a foot outside. Right now he is our worst hitter.

My rationale
He always would swing at those, but would get some of the bat on it to foul it off. Now he is missing them entirely along with fouling off those in the zone.
It seems he is having trouble with his hand/eye coordination. For this time he has also been switching between goggles and contacts.
I am really starting to worry he is not seeing the ball as well at the plate.

The Giants scored four runs, and we’re amazed. Stunned. It almost doesn’t feel like it was that bad of a loss. There was a home run, which Wikipedia describes as "when the ball is hit in such a way that the batter is able to circle all the bases in one play without any errors being committed by the defensive team in the process." It was stunning! A revelation! Alas, it wasn’t enough.
The worst part for me is that someone, somewhere is thinking that someday, a lineup with Edgar Renteria, Mark DeRosa, and Freddy Sanchez back from injury will help this offense in any noticable way. Why, this team isn’t at full strength! That person might have a goatee, a closet filled with Tommy Bahama shirts, and a disdain for minor league statistics. It’s like a Hollywood producer complaining to a studio executive: "Of course Cutthroat Island flopped! After Jim Belushi and Bronson Pinchot pulled out, we didn’t have any box office draws." Deflect, deflect, deflect. The people signing the checks will bemoan their bad luck. Cursed fortune!
That’s the worst part for me.
The other worst part is that the Giants lost another game because their dinky singles weren’t strung together with the serendipity of the Padres’ singles. That was, again, a bunch of crap. I don’t think it means that the Padres are just way better than the Giants.
The other worst part is that I watched that whole game. And the eight Padres/Giants games before it. What is my problem? I’m not getting those hours back. My god, I could have read books to my daughter. I could have learned calligraphy.
Also of note: with the exception of the first paragraph, this post was written at 4:00 p.m. today.
