Sure would be nice to have that line somewhere other than in front of the pitcher. Wonder how hard it would be to change the lineup card
yes but
there’s a shitload of luck involved. Hitting ahead of the P gives you a small bump, but the rest of the gaudy numbers are complete flukes. Look at the BABIPs; they’re absurd.
This convergence of luck and randomness is sure to dissipate over the course of the season, but it is certainly fun to look at now.
