All-around well-played game, but Wilson throwing strikes and Timmy not walking a single batter through seven is the most encouraging sign. Not giving free bases is so critical that the performance today is damned fine.

They’re telling me I’m “located in one of the teams’ broadcast areas” yet at the same time their zip code blackout locator tells me that the only team blacked out in my area…well, BLANKed out…are the Blanks.
Also, the small print tells me that Premium subscribers will have access to games 90 minutes after their conclusion no matter where you are…

We run amok with digressions, and while they are indeed amazing in their scope and depth they shouldn’t be celebrated as superior padding. I’ve caught snippets of McLennan (the ’Pit’s Grant) murmuring warnings against utter frolicking.
The contrast between the ‘Pit GDTs of yore and today is like night and, well, dusk.
The early ’Pit threads were vacant affairs, more like descriptions rather than takes.
They’ve loosened up dramatically, but the ghost of play – by – play remains.
They’re not quite demented enough to be chummy with. There’s almost an air of goodness.

maybe it’s because i’m using chrome. I couldn’t log in without going into incognito mode (that’s been an issue before, though—for some reason I can’t always get to the login screen), but more annoyingly, audio feeds from other games or highlight clips would not stop playing even after closing them..
oh well. I’m sure it’ll get cleaned up.

I’ve never (or rarely) had a problem with Firefox (and I love Ad Block Plus) so I haven’t tried Chrome.

I really enjoyed watching the game on the big screen at the ballpark today. Great weather, a free hotdog and I was able to roam around the stadium and switch seats at free will. I can see myself doing this again.

I was watching, but I have no fucking clue.
Double play ball hit, M’s second basemen goes to tag A’s runner, tries to then throws to 1st. No signal from any ump. Then they throw to second.
It was called a double play, even though on replay they just showed that the runner from 1st to 2nd was not tagged with the ball. And there was no signal for the runner at first.

Brett Anderson should be good. And they have some decent bullpen arms. But their success is gonna ride on some guys that were hurt all of last year (Sheets, Duke, Chavez) and that’s really scary.

They have the best defense in majors, maybe second to the Mariners.
They also have possibly the most talented rotation in baseball. How healthy it will stay is the big question.

Ordering my World Series tix now
Had to miss innings 4-end because I had just gotten off work and wasn’t near a ‘puter (BOOO—MLB, please refrain from starting games at 4 pm Pacific. Kthxbye). But I’m encouraged by what I saw and heard. Especially, as pointed out above: Timmy with no walks and busting out the curveball, and Wilson not giving anyone a heart attack. Oh, and Mark DeRosa and Aubrey Huff being worth their contracts for at least one game.

If anybody has Extra Innings, new blackout rules. On Saturday, if a game begins at 1:10 PM. Any game that begins at 10:10 AM or before is allowed on Extra Innings when before it wasn’t.

This DOES help for one game this year. The Giants are in Toronto on June 19th. The game time is 10:07 AM. The FOX games are one 1:10 PM. This means, this is available on Extra Innings with this new rule. Subject to change, of course.

Aerial Ace might be good. Go with type, take advantage of the 1.5 attack from hustle, and circumvent the accuracy drop with the “never miss” move. The only downside is that it’s a phys attack.

Yawn doesn’t suck as a placeholder, I guess. You can use it with Wish to draw out longer battled. Ancientpower makes sense too with the stat boost.
I guess Heat Wave and Signal Beam are good if you need the fire/bug advantage somewhere on your team.

Had to teach a class, mlbsite wasn’t working so couldn’t watch the giants while teaching it, came home and took in all the goodness. Then had to read every post game post on the game thread, took about another 3 hours. Now can finally go to sleep (if I could just get tired). Still, I wouldn’t mind doing this 161 more times. . .

I think he means that if the balls aren’t prepared properly, it’s going to diminish a pitcher’s ability to control his pitches, and somebody is going to get plunked unintentionally because of it. I don’t think he’s making any kind of threat.

You have to believe Bowker or Nate will hit better against LHP than Huff, given his track record. (MehRosa to 1B in this situation)
