I see a lot of complaining about Bruce Bochy and his stupid lineups, and there's no doubt he's an idiot, but what choice does he really have? I mean, look at the lineup we'll be facing tonight and ask if Bochy was their manager, would he screw it up? The answer is no. Even a dope like Bochy would know to put the good fast hitters at the top of the lineup, the good power hitters in the middle of the lineup, and the lesser hitters at the bottom. The problem is that when Bochy makes out the lineup card, he has one good hitter and seven pieces of shit to choose from. Any way he goes is the wrong way.
Which brings us to the guy who provided him with these players. Every off season and every trade deadline he's given the same mandate. IMPROVE THE OFFENSE. Every year he fails to do it. This year he signed an FA first baseman on the downside of his career, a second baseman in worse shape than Bret Michaels, (too soon?) and a player with a wrist that he says might never be 100 % again, and even if it was, he's a useful utility guy at best, yet he bats fifth and plays a corner outfield position. He's given enough money to improve the offense, yet he fails to do it. He's also a liar who insults the intelligence of the fans and questions the integrity of his players. His knocks at Madison Bumgarner were unfair, the guy's sister died this offseason. Excuse him for not working out with the zeal that he should have done. Yesterday, Brad Penny exposed him again. Sabean made it sound like the Cardinals outbid the Giants by just a couple of dollars, and Penny left us for err, Pennies. Yet Penny said after the game if the money was even close he would have stayed with the Giants, but the Giants' bid was far short of what he got from St. Louis. In addition to incompetence, the guy is shifty and full of it.
That's why I'm telling The Big Bowtie to wake the fuck up and fix this problem before this year's deadline, when the guy further guts our farm system for more hitters who can't hit. Right now our farm system is Buster Posey and a lot of highly regarded guys hitting .210. Where's the future stars we thought Sabean drafted? This guy's done nothing right, and it's time to cut him loose. Even better would be if the GM comes in and realizes he has no use for this manager either. I'm tired of saying Matt Cain pitched well enough to win, Jonathan Sanchez pitched well enough to win, Todd Wellemeyer pitched well enough to errr, never mind, he was another FA sign by Sabean. By next week we'll probably add Zito and Timmy to the list of hard luck losers. It's time for Sabean to go. He's been here forever and there ain't no rings on anyone's fingers.
