A/S/L (actually, just location)

So. Where are you? Obviously, many McCoven are in the Bay Area, a lot are elsewhere in California, and some of us are spread across the rest of the country. A few are overseas as well. Being a nerd, I'd be interested to see how widely we're distributed.

I've tried to include every possible location, but I accidentally deleted the poll the first time I tried to make it and reconstructed it hastily. So I've probably neglected a few options. Sorry!

I’ve always understood the East Bay to be Contra Costa and Alameda Counties. Maybe Sacramentans (if that’s a word) feel differently, though!

He does talk about that a lot! That’s part of why I like him so much — he’s not afraid to say things that make him look bad. Patton Oswalt, who I also like a lot, says he’s the best guy going right now. I tend to agree, but he’s not my all-time favorite or anything — though I can’t think who that might actually be. I grew up loving guys like Steve Martin, Brian Reagan and Steven Wright, but I can’t commit to any as my “favorite”.

I do know my all-time favorite stand-up special, though — Dave Chappelle’s “Killin’ Them Softly” in 2000 on HBO.

Yes.

Went there to work in the late summer of ’07. It looked so ridiculously lucrative ($37/hr, insane overbuilding on the Strip) that I was going to make it my permanent residence.

I am in Klamath Falls, Oregon. A surprisingly large amount of people have heard of it.

I'm a better person now.

This is crazy, I never had any idea that ol’ Klamath Falls was ( kind of ) in Fallout 2. I seriously need to download Fallout 1 and 2.

I was in your neighborhood once.

Not by design, though.

I remember I think. This was after you and your son got lost north of SF iirc. Klamath Falls is truly a nice place.

No doubt.

When we lived in the East Bay Area in the ’70s Dad drove us all over NorCal.

Klamath Falls is the site of my friend’s most epic sympathy story of all time.

He got hit by a semitrailer full of bees.

When I maintained a national weather map in our office, I always made sure to include the forecast high for Klamath Falls. I don’t remember the origin, but it became pretty solid tradition.

“Where did you grow up?”

I’m curious to know about people became Giants fans. I’m especially fascinated by people who are fans but never lived in the Bay Area.
