Internet Relay Chat
As promised here's the information on the IRC channel. Please remember, it is not meant to take away anything from the blog, well okay, maybe it would be better to take the "What color nail polish are you wearing tonight?" discussions elsewhere. There's Twitter, there's Facebook and there's IRC it's just another option / different format.
And just in case SBN goes (as we say in the Merope household) crashy boom booms tonight...remember you can also join the IRC channel. I'm sure it makes no difference whatsoever, but it's NBA playoffs, NHL playoffs and ye olde dodgers / Giants series this weekend etc... that's a lot of traffic.
The down side to IRC is that with the exception of ASCII art there are no pictures, some of you with slower computers might consider that an upside! IRC is real time, live chat.
For those of you that are IRC savvy it's #TheCove on Dalnet
For the non IRC crowd here's a basic how-to. I'm sure there are better ones online:
1. To reach Dalnet you will need an IRC client. The most popular ones are:
PC - mIRC
Mac - XChat Aqua, Colloquy, or Ircle
Linux - XChat or BitchX
2. Choose a nick name
3. Find the "servers" or "connections" menu. Make sure you select a Dalnet server.
I use swiftco.wa.us.dal.net
4. Once you are on the network type /join #TheCove
That's it.

I’m a huge IRC fan, and this is a great way to keep in touch and chat!

IceChat is also a good option on the PC. I don’t know if I downloaded the wrong thing, but mIRC was bugging me to buy it and I think it locked me out after 30 days.
Goodbye, Steven Johnson, we hardly knew ye. Seriously, that was short.
