Edwin Escobar
Looks like they took a youngster in exchange for letting the Rangers keep Ben Snyder

A quick check over at Lone Star Ball reveals some dismay with the trade and some acceptance. This is what I was looking for though:
● Edwin Escobar: 42 present/52 future with 40/50-grade fastball (86-89 mph velocity; 55-grade movement), 40/55-grade curveball, 40/50-grade change-up, and 40/50*-grade control. Projection: No. 4-5 starter; reliever. (3/26)
So a lefty with mid/high 80’s velocity and a good groundball rate. Meh, but Snyder was pretty meh as well. Apparently Escobar might be able to add velocity, which is something I think they just say about every young arm.
Juan Carlos Perez, please start hitting.
that’s a lot of analysis of a trade featuring two guys with no chance in hell of ever pitching in the majors.

God damn.
I dunno how these guys are able to project an 18 year old, with any degree of certainty. This trade is a win just based on his age, imo.
+1
Reminds me of the Michael Tucker for Kelvin Pichardo trade…before Pichardo took those PED’s
Adopted Giant: Mike Krukow.
Grab Some Pine, Meat
Kevin Frandsen: Better than any SS on the Giants roster
Hoping for BowkerMania to hit AT&T Park in 2010
He’s my age!
Rooting for Jose Casilla to take his K- and GB-inducing skills to the majors and join his brother.
The Kids: Lewis, Posey, Sandoval, Bowker, Schierholtz, Frandsen, Ishikawa, Amezaga... CHONE WAR projection= 12.7
Current Team: Rowand, Sanchez, DeRosa, Sandoval, Huff, Molina, Renteria, Schierholtz... CHONE WAR projection= 12.6
Escobar had to be traded from the Rangers after Ron Washington’s failed drug test…Time to peddle Grampa Pablo’s product on the west coast…
If God had intended us not to rosterbate, he would've made our arms shorter.
Illegitimate father of Craig Clark...Bringing WINZ to a boxscore near you.

Yeah, I’m cool with this. Neither is likely to ever mean much, but 18 year-old for 24 year-old AA pitcher works for me.
I've given up on adding to my Giants family and am coming to grips with remaining childless.

Hidden behind Escobar’s 5.00 ERA and excessive number of baserunners lies a strong foundation. Consider his peripherals. While making his pro debut last season, Escobar struck out 9.6 and walked 3.2 batters per nine innings, while allowing only one home run in 12 starts. He pitches at 88-92 mph with some sink and has a fringy curveball that shows flashes of becoming something more than that. He’s solidly built and already shows advanced feel for his age.
FREE BUSTER POSEY
But on the other hand, can Buster Posey match Bengie Molina's spring training heroics? It's debatable.
I like.

AAAAAA THE WORST TRADE AAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Status: Feels so broke up. Wants to go home. || Still boycotting Johnsonville and Giants souvenirs or ballpark foods for repossessing my K Wall in right field.
I honestly have no opinion
…and would trust the Giants’ ability to evaluate these guy these guys over anyone’s here.
It sounds like they see something they like, otherwise they could have had Snyder back. Good enough for me.
Proudly adopted Aubrey Huff. You can't beat that!
Over anyone's here?
Really, Goofus? Anyone? You don’t really mean that.
Adoptive parent of Kevin Frandsen, now stopping gaps in Boston.
I would take wcw’s opinion first on an 18 year old that he has never seen. But failing that, I guess I will go with the Giants.

LOVE TO SAY I TOLD YOU SO
I know you nerds know NOTHING about the real game of baseball, or any other athletic endeavor requiring teamwork under physical stress.
