Lincecum gets another shot at making the team. If he can't pitch a complete game today against the Royals, then the season is pretty much lost.

Let’s hope Posey gets his first hit of the spring. Otherwise, we’ll probably trade him for Garko.

IIRC he got a hit yesterday, maybe even drove in a run.

Let’s hope Posey gets his plays first again hit of so he can develop necessary positional versatility during the spring. Otherwise, we’ll probably trade him for Garko.

Giants pitching coach Dave Righetti. "I treat Timmy differently from most pitchers: I leave him alone."

Bengie Molina: "I don't understand why they didn't want to commit to another year, with my numbers and my experience and things like that." Brain Sabean: "He's certainly welcomed back with open arms".

Game called off and pain...

Per Baggs:

No game today but a lot of casualties. Brett Pill got hit in the face with a ball in BP and Schierholtz fouled a ball off his left knee.

Schierholtz was on the ground for several minutes. He and DeRosa are hitting in a simulated game vs lefties Craig Clark, Clayton Tanner.

Adopted brother of Jason Jarvis. To pass the time during the offseason I decided to try my hand at blogging about photography and music.

HUMM BABY 4 HAITI TO HELP AID RECOVERY EFFORTS Non-profit organization announces launch

March 2, 2010 — In an endeavor to boost the worldwide relief effort for earthquake victims in Haiti, a new non-profit organization Humm Baby 4 Haiti, has been launched, along with its accompanying Web site www.hummbaby4haiti.org.

Humm Baby 4 Haiti, along with its partner organization, Partners in Health, allows people to donate online and directly support the recovery efforts in Haiti. Humm Baby 4 Haiti is planning a relief trip to the island nation later this year.

Founder Salvador Serrano, a San Francisco native and UC Davis graduate, launched this non-profit organization after being deeply affected by the devastation caused by the massive quake that struck Haiti in January. With vivid memories of the destruction from the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake in the Bay Area, Serrano formed Humm Baby 4 Haiti to encourage Northern Californians and baseball fans to bolster the relief efforts.

For more information, or to schedule an interview with Salvador Serrano, please call (800) 423-3950 or e-mail donate@hummbaby4haiti.org

LOL ALEX SMITH

WHY IS BENGIE?!
Dearest, Susan - The Patron Saint of Patience

by Lars The Wanderer on Mar 8, 2010 8:57 AM PST up reply actions

I think the only way this actually affects Alex Smith is if he spends six games looking horrible. Which could happen. It really is way, way more of a LOL SHAUN HILL right now, though.

I don't know about that, to the groin.

by howtheyscored on Mar 8, 2010 9:00 AM PST up reply actions

The first time Smith struggles; or doesn’t even struggle but makes a mistake late in the game, people will start bellowing for Carr to start. It won’t even take 6 bad games for that to happen.

WHY IS BENGIE?!
Dearest, Susan - The Patron Saint of Patience

by Lars The Wanderer on Mar 8, 2010 9:07 AM PST up reply actions

It won’t take that long for the fans to start bellowing, of course. But the coaching staff is going to take it’s sweet time making the change. I can’t guarantee that, of course, but I’d bet a lot on it. I mean, Shaun Hill had to spend basically six games as one of the three or four worst performing quarterbacks in the NFL before they went to Smith. If the grace period for “playing at a level that’s only slightly better than Jamarcus Russell in 2008” with this coaching staff is five and a half games, I think Smith can make it through six before being benched.

I don't know about that, to the groin.

Damn stupid nonpossessives.

I don't know about that, to the groin.

by howtheyscored on Mar 8, 2010 9:17 AM PST up reply actions

You are probably right

I mean, Patrick Willis says Carr sucks. If the coaching staff were to yank Smith, Willis would run out on the field and tackle Carr before he got a chance to take his first snap.

WHY IS BENGIE?!
Dearest, Susan - The Patron Saint of Patience

by Lars The Wanderer on Mar 8, 2010 9:26 AM PST up reply actions

And with his track record with the Texans, it probably wouldn’t even be the first time that Carr was sacked by his own teammate.

I don't know about that, to the groin.

It just makes no sense to me

if anything it’s a totally lateral move IMO. Ok, he’s got a stronger arm. Yippeeeeeee, he’s not a good quarterback, as has been demonstrated when he was given 4 years and didn’t pan out, even with Andre Johnson for 2 of them.

But he’s a backup, so I’m not like all fire and brimstone about it. It’s the definition of “meh” IMO
