Buster gets some time at 1B.
I'm puzzled by this. Half of me is like, "Why is he at 1B? he's the best catcher on the roster" the other half is like, "Sweet maybe they realize the value of a 360 OBP and are going to do whatever it takes to get his bat in the lineup."

1) all catchers take 1B practice.
2) He isn’t going to start at 1b. They have Huff!
Matt Graham is an anagram for .... why don't you ask the scrabble expert!
Funny, I don’t ever remember a Giants catcher playing 1B in ST game, maybe Pablo did it, but I can’t recall any other.
Q: Did you ever make an offer for Vladimir Guerrero?
Sabean: In a word: No. If we had signed Guerrero or [Gary] Sheffield, we would have been without [Long list of replacement level vets]—obviously not being able to field a competitive team, especially from an experience standpoint, given our level of spending.
Most catchers (especially morbidly obese ones like our number one) don’t have the athleticsm to play another position. Let’s just hope that the Giants take advantage of Posey’s versatility, and don’t instead turn it into a curse constantly playing him all over the field at positions he’s not experienced at.
No Edgar, it's not your fault, it's the fault of the idiot that plays you

2 best catching prospects in franchise history
converted to corner infielders! That would be awesome!
Giants pitching coach Dave Righetti. "I treat Timmy differently from most pitchers: I leave him alone."
Bengie Molina: "I don't understand why they didn't want to commit to another year, with my numbers and my experience and things like that." Brain Sabean: "He's certainly welcomed back with open arms".

to be fair i’d much rather see posey occasionally play 1B if that’s what they’re trying than not see posey at all. obviously Huff will be the head honcho there, but posey sightings aren’t necessarily bad things.
doan worry, poplo loe he team, he wan get berry good for body to play the beisbol
if
you buy the company line that the thing keeping Posey from making the big team this year, is defense and/or “handling pitchers” it would seem standing on 1B does pretty much nothing to work on that “flaw”.
In other news, Steve Holm was catching in one of the games, which doesn’t make a whole lot of sense if, again, Posey is such a clod behind the plate and needs to be learning the esoterica of catching at every opportunity.
Unless, unfortunately, what you are saying (and Botchy is hinting at) is that they’ve concluded he’s beyond hope as an everyday catcher and are grooming him for 1B.

Yawn.
I know you nerds know NOTHING about the real game of baseball, or any other athletic endeavor requiring teamwork under physical stress.
