nah, I didn’t think he was going to do anything else, I was proofing the shots of the beaning. Wish I did though. I think ESPN got video of it if you want to see. It’s not like an angered toss or anything, but still kind of uneccessary.

Thats the first time I viewed Zito as a badass

The Brewers were arrogant and cocky they had it coming to them. good for Zito. thats the good thing about having a great pitching staff. They throw good beans at jackasses. You ever heard of sportsmanship. Thank God Penny’s gone. I don’t know what he would do to Fielder. he would probaly gather the team and celebrate like the those Damn Brewers did. ha I miss pissed off Brad Penny. Hopefully he gets really angry at opposing teams as a cardinal.

Funny you should say that…Brad Penny will be facing the Brewers in his division…

Awesome...

now let’s not piss him off so much that he doesn’t sign with us next year.

For the thirteen time in 3 or one evers, I found myself toothlessly thinking about Manny Ramirez.

I know you nerds know NOTHING about the real game of baseball, or any other athletic endeavor requiring teamwork under physical stress.

I shoot Nikon. mostly 70-200 2.8 + 1.4 TC. My arm already hurts from holding that bad boy for 2 games.

by thevaultsky on Mar 5, 2010 7:21 AM PST reply actions

also it’s not the size of the lens, it’s how you use it….heh heh

by thevaultsky on Mar 5, 2010 7:23 AM PST up reply actions

I like Nikons, learned on a Nikon E(70’s) film camera with the 70-200 Lens. Right now I am shooting on a Sony and I don’t want to invest in digital lenses and the such b/c I don’t see it as my terminal brand.

I used my fathers Cannons (5d, 7d, and 40D) when I vacationed with him and I fell in love with the 7D, such a smart camera! He also has the 70-200 which is the best lens to have. I shot the picture to the right with the 7d and a 100-400 lens. My sister in law has the 300d so I am going to borrow that for a few days and hopefully be able to invest in something decent soon!

by say hey nation on Mar 5, 2010 7:36 AM PST up reply actions

Wow, that was longer than I thought. Basically I am planning to invest in a terminal brand (Nikon or Canon) are you happy the nikon?

Feel the comparable models that you are looking at between Nikon and Canon. When I was looking between them, the Canon was just too small. The Nikon fit my hands better.

This was ’06 I think, between the D50 and whatever EOS was out (I think Xi….). So pretty low.

It’s really all about preference, really. They both essentially do the same thing. Though, the Nikon bodies and lenses has always felt bulky to me.

I’ve always been a Canon guy, because that’s what I’ve been used to and been using for years now.

I’ve been shooting weddings for a few years now, and currently I’m rolling with 5D Mark ii and I absolutely love all the features. I also just bought a 7D as my second shooter and it does what it’s supposed to. Oh man, do I really want a 1D Mark iv.

This too, Look for what lenses you’ve got already as well. Also, where Mike felt Nikcon was bulky, I thought Canon was too small. Try both out.

I used to be canon fan, but I switched to Nikon about a year ago. I actually like the canon bodies better, (not the controls. just the shutter) but the optics for Nikon were more important to me personally. It’s all preference really. If you go with one of the big 2 you can go wrong.

Thanks so much for sharing the photos. They’re awesome. I go to your site daily for updates.

One thing I noticed from yesterday’s gallery that really disappointed me — what happened with Henry Sosa’s socks? Where are the bow-tie approved stripes? You just can’t go with the calf length socks and not use the retr-stripes!

My Bucardo is better than yours.

A hot August weekday, before a small crowd, when the only thing at stake is the tissue-thin difference between a thing done well and a thing done ill. Insofar as the clutch hitter is not a sportswriter's myth, it is a vulgarity, like a writer who writes only for money.

Do you run mostly on shutter control or aperture?

I love your shots, man. Very clean with the 2.8f.

BTW How did you score your photo pass for the team?

by SoFa King Mike on Mar 5, 2010 10:32 AM PST up reply actions

I don’t have a photo cred. They were thinking of giving me one, but apparently changed their minds. I have to get creative and shoot from my seat, which is why most of the photos are from the same POV.

I manually tweak on the fly, but for the most part I shoot wide open in order to get the bokeh I need. In reality, I shoot alot more F4 than 2.8 because of reach.

by thevaultsky on Mar 5, 2010 4:17 PM PST up reply actions

Oh okay, that explains a lot. I always wondered how you got those unique angles. lol No seriously, it does not look generic like if you shot in the pit.

Even at f4, the bokeh effect comes out nicely. You’ve got a very good eye.

I love shooting with my 70-200 in the day, but can be a bastard at night when shooting above 100 because I kind of shake frim the weight of the lens. Man, I really should shoot sports again.

WOW

I was watching/listening to Mike and Mike in the morning and they were saying how the game where the Brewers did that bullspit they said it was an important game for the brewers because they were in a playoff race(HA), then they said that Bob Howry gave up the home run(how so stereotypical). But everybody at ESPN was saying how much of a Coward Zito is. How far does ESPN have their heads up their ass.
