A hearty thank you to Rich Aurilia for all the good memories, and to the Niners for finally getting the uni's (mostly) right.

I am not pitching.
I didn’t even pitch in Little League.
Which reminds me: when I was in Little League, one of the kids in the league was named…Burlin Germany.
Sometimes, I wondered if I had made up this name in the depths of my memory, because it seems to bizarre to be true, but no – my old Little League has a webpage with photos and such of All-Star teams from the league’s past. And there Burlin is on the 1989 team!

I never had any interest in pitching
Comes from growing up idolizing Will Clark, I guess!

I was a human changeup
one year we had this really good kid (who I think ended up getting drafted out of high school but as far as I know didn’t go anywhere) who threw absolute gas. He’d start the game and pitch for a while and then every now and again they’d bring me in to pitch after him and everyone was always way out in front of my “fastball.”
the rest of the time I was a slick fielding infielder who couldn’t hit much
A hearty thank you to Rich Aurilia for all the good memories, and to the Niners for finally getting the uni's (mostly) right.
I was a bit of a utility player
Played some third base, some second base, some catcher. Also some outfield, but I was a TERRIBLE defensive outfielder. My judgement on fly balls sucks.

3B was always my favorite to play
But I was a better second baseman. Didn’t have a great throwing arm.

oh right
there were some years I played a lot of catcher. Despite not being much of a pitcher I had a pretty good arm.

I'm a lefty
So I always played either 1B or outfield. Always wanted to play SS and catch.
Proudly adopted Aubrey Huff. You can't beat that!

Yes.
But it sounds like they’ll just play the tenth.
