This might be the stupidest rumor I’ve ever heard. It makes literally no sense for the Cards at all. If the Phillies even did have internal discussions about this, they’re fucking stupid.

ESPN keeps discussing this as though it were actual news. I’m not sure they understand that the Cardinals would also have to agree to the “trade.”

The trouble is that I’m pretty ESPN probably thinks Howard and Pujols are close in value.

I love how they acknowledged that Pujols is far better than Howard and then did a side by side comparison of their contracts. They’re both FA’s after 2011 and Howard makes more money this season and next than Pujols. This trade proposal totally makes any sense.
