I hate Radnich.

He’s an ass. And a self-important, smug one. And I’m not actually convinced that it’s an act.

I don't know about that, to the groin.

I’ve seen Radnich in person. He’s the same on camera as he is off camera.

My girlfriend and I are convinced that he’s pretty much always drunk when he’s on TV. Mostly because he slurs heavily and his cheeks turn bright red. And because he stops making sense.

I don't know about that, to the groin.

Now I can continue to feel absolutely no guilt about not watching the Giants' pre- and post-game shows.

I was afraid they might actually include some interesting and insightful commentary.

Keep him on tv…fine by me… the only pre-post game I pay attention to is on the radio!

by Merope on Mar 10, 2010 6:52 PM PST reply actions

If I’m watching the game on TV, I always change the channel when the game ends. Most of the time I find another game on TV. Other times I will be at the game so I won’t be home to even catch it. I won’t even listen to post game on radio.

Radnich doesn’t like sports and is bored by talking about the Giants.

Mark DeRosa: the rare utility player who can provide some utility.

by oldjacket on Mar 10, 2010 7:41 PM PST reply actions

I read that article where Radnich talked about how people stare at him in restaurants because he’s married to a black woman. The only reason they’re staring is they can’t believe that attractive younger woman is with that fat loudmouth.

Dumped Edgar Renteria and adopted Buster Posey. Biggest upgrade since George Jefferson moved up to a deluxe apartment on the east side!

Dammit. I cannot stand him.

Gary Radnich, the most respected and the most recognized sports television and radio personality in Northern California, has expanded his on-air role with the network.

A little self serving?

Bochy: What’s this fancy stat here?
IT Guy: That’s how often they get on base. I do not know why you keep asking me, I am here to fix your server.

Billy Hayes: His job is better than yours.

I guess i’m the only guy excited about this. I thought the 49ers post-game was hilarious and I love his radio show. Entertainment!

by blackbird on Mar 11, 2010 9:54 AM PST reply actions

I like Gary

so like delorean I’ll take this over the Damon and Urban show featuring Cammie Blackstone.

I wonder if KRON is cutting him back? Or maybe he’s just hedging his bets as they keep shutting things down there.

I kinda wonder if anyone will call him on the typical Giants coverage he gives, at least on his radio show:

February-March: “call me when the season starts”
April-June: "ah, it’s too early in the season for games to matter
July-Sept: “they’re out of it now”
Oct-Jan: “spring training isn’t for … months”.

I don’t think that will work so well on the pregame/postgame, but it will be more interesting than Raj Mathai or Larry Beil or whomever they might dredge up.

Giants pitching coach Dave Righetti. "I treat Timmy differently from most pitchers: I leave him alone."

Bengie Molina: "I don't understand why they didn't want to commit to another year, with my numbers and my experience and things like that." Brain Sabean: "He's certainly welcomed back with open arms".

I guess I just feel like I don’t need actual sports info from pre and post game shows — I just want to see entertaining personalities and folks who are willing to poke fun at the absurdity of the 24 hours sports coverage industry.
I’ll get my actual sports insights and info from other, more academic, sources. I think Gary’s a genius with his meta broadcasting!
