Around SBN: Ellenberger vs. Sanchez Heats Up, Hughes Talks Retirement

New video showing some of the new feature for MLB the show.

In the video you see they gave Sandoval his batters box walk up where he does that little skip and hits his bat to his toes and helmet.

Splash hits will be updated in the game based on you hitting them (finally)

and theres a cool shot of sandoval hitting one into the water vs the bums.

oh my that looks awesome. That makes me want to buy a ps3. Also, sort of funny that they are trying to use fans leaning for foul balls as a selling point?

Fans leaning over, catching a ball that the player could get to, getting bood, and starting a huge argument would be pretty cool.

I won’t be impressed with the fan interaction until my relief pitcher throws a chair into the stands.

I was at that game…great seats behind home plate, saw the brawl develop, then a white folding chair floated over the crowd like an ethereal jellyfish…

The explanation of the friend of the lady who got hit was facepalm worthy.

I don’t even remember. That was just a crazy sight…I was with my old boss, and he was grabbing his cell to call his wife…God it was funny.

The guy thought he was part of the team saying they were the 10th player by screaming obscenities and (rumored) racial stuff at the relievers. Trying to get under their skin.

More so than any possible gameplay or graphical features, I’m thrilled that they will finally be adding splash hits to the game. Seriously, it was long overdue

Does anyone know how much attention is being given to the PS2 version? I know the graphics won’t be anywhere near the PS3 in terms of quality, but will the little graphical touches like the splash hits still be in the game?

by Seasick fish on Feb 23, 2010 7:33 PM PST reply actions

i hear there will be no online play for the PS2 and maybe even PSP

good thing I have PS3

It’s pretty stunning that games are still coming out for the PS2. They weren’t kidding about that 10 year life cycle

I’m glad they are. I still have a PS2 and will not spend the money on a PS3.

When you have such a large userbase worldwide, might as well mine it for all it’s worth.

I like the splashcam. Too bad I have xbox. Oh well, still not worth ponying up for the PS3
