Are we laughing at the episode itself or the fact that Jim Bowden has his own show?

Jon Daniels looks like some dude hanging out in his mom’s basement. One of us?

I saw him at the Winter Meetings, and he was truly indistinguishable from the college-aged job seekers.

God, I hate FOX.

I want Arrested Development uncanceled! (Just finished watching the series on dvd, now faced with the realization that I have to find something new to put in my netflix queue instead of just moving up the next AD. Therefore, my rage over the series canceling comes 5ish years late)

freaks and geeks
firefly
adventures of brisco county jr.
how i met your mother
the office (UK)

i watched all of these show via netflix, which is like christmas and pizza rolled into one.

Could someone (it seems like everyone here likes the show) try to explain what was the point of the twist at the end with lindsey? George Michael/Maeby still seems so unresolved! I need the movie to come through and be amazing.

Is it just me...

Or when stat-savvy GMs like Theo say that they value scouts over stats, they are just lying to placate a certain portion of the population.

You’re probably correct wrt for major leaguers, at least. They’re probably not lying wrt minor leaguers and draft prospects, areas where the available statistics are somewhere between troublingly and hopelessly flawed.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Where there is an available dataset of sufficient proportions, why rely on the scouts so much?

I like Upton wearing his sunglass

Not only while he’s inside, but as if he was surprised by the interview. Like it was sprung upon him that second.

Whaaat the fuck was with that chick randomly popping up and making stupid jokes? And could you possibly pick a worse host for this thing? I’d feel more comfortable watching a zombie Charles Manson.

But man, I did not know these GMs are that young. Except for Dayton Moore and his RBI of course.

Still and all, why bother? Here's my answer. Many people need desperately to receive this message: I feel and think much as you do, care about many of the things you care about, although most people do not care about them. You are not alone.

Let’s us never speak of this again.

My Bucardo is better than yours.

A hot August weekday, before a small crowd, when the only thing at stake is the tissue-thin difference between a thing done well and a thing done ill. Insofar as the clutch hitter is not a sportswriter's myth, it is a vulgarity, like a writer who writes only for money.

by Roger on Feb 23, 2010 6:12 AM PST reply actions

I think that Jim Bowden has found his niche at long last.

Also, this was really goofy, but they did a pretty good job of giving credence to the stat folks. I actually didn’t hate it.
