yeah, he had better stats than Tanner at least….i wish our minor league experts would post a depth chart or something, like Top 10 Starters, Top 10 relievers, etc…or maybe rank the SP and RP at each level…if we had a stat wiki or a google doc type thing…

I really like Martinez.

He may be old, but all his minor league numbers were pretty solid.

I haven’t seen many projections for him, but I can see him being a 4.00-4.20 FIP type of pitcher… Which is certainly welcome as a 4th starter on a lot of teams.

If he was that good

The Pirates wouldn’t DFA him. I mean, their staff ace is currently James McDonald. If Martinez could put up a 4.00-4.20 FIP then he’d be the #3 starter, possibly #2 depending on how McDonald and Correia do next year.
