Jose Guillen, M.I.A.?

I was able to finally watch the Sunday Clinching Game last night (admitted Bluegrass addict here), and while they edited out a few innings in which nothing particularly earth shaking happened it seemed that we got most, if not all, of the post-win celebration.

It struck me as curious that I couldn't find Jose Guillen in any of the post-game celebration footage.

Star-divide

I don't have any particular axe to grind with Guillen, hell I was at his Grand Slam/6 RBI game which certainly saved the Giants from a precipice of an ugly 3 game sweep by the Brewers before their final grueling road-trip of the year, I just found it curious.

Eli Whiteside - kept popping into the frame pouring beer or champagne over anyone/everyone he could find.

Cody Ross - who joined the team AFTER Jose Guillen, when the Giants were actually forced to take him via waver claim to block Padres, was there in the locker-room exuberant as anyone. His wife & kids were present smiling for the camera, he interviewed with Kruk or Kuip for television.  He was quite a presence.

Now immediately after Guillen flailed at the first pitch with runners on and meekly grounded to SS to close an earlier inning, he was replaced on defense by Nate.

Could his skin be so thin that he doesn't celebrate with his teammates as he's steamed about being taken out?

Am I reading too much into this?  Did I miss him dancing and drinking with Panda & Uribe?

Again, I am someone willing to give Jose the benefit of the doubt.  I thought the earlier brouhaha about "curtain calls" was completely ridiculous.

Somebody tell me they saw him covered in champagne and I'll apologize, but for now I'm scratching my head.  Thanks & Go GIANTS!

I think I saw him in photos during the victory lap.

Obviously any links in the above post are probably NSFW

I'd give him the benefit of the doubt

As one of the last guys to join the team and someone who didn’t do much to get the team there, it would have been totally inappropriate for him to call a lot of attention to himself by making a spectacle.

As jct said, I’m pretty sure I saw him in the victory lap. I think I also saw him in the clubhouse, but kind of remaining in the background.

Proudly adopted Aubrey Huff. You can't beat that!

Gotcha.

Didn’t look at the victory lap as close as the rest of it, will do that soon as that stuff is recorded FOREVER! ;-)

I think the love-fest in the clubhouse with Ross got my head spinning and I obviously thought too much about it.

Thanks for reading the pointless FanPost of the now though.

I didn’t see much of Mad Bum either other than him walking into the locker room.

There’s a vid on sfgiants.com of Cain giving Bum a noogie and showering him with beer in the clubhouse

jose guillen is not here for curtain calls or victory laps. he’s here to play baseball, and if he sucks at baseball, then he sucks.

From this headline, I thought Angel Villalona kidnapped Guillen.

I found him! Eugenio is pouring a beer on him.

This was the earlier celebration that took place in a separate room, not the clubhouse.

Oh, he showed up.

Someone tossed him a beer the second he got into the locker room.

He missed it, and spent the rest of the celebration running it down in triples alley.
