Reasons to dislike the TX Rangers

1. The Giants scratched and clawed their way to the NL West crown. The Rangers on the other hand seemed to have sailed their way to the postseason. The Giants clinched on the final day of the regular season while the Rangers were in first place in early June and never looked back. The Rangers closest competition at seasons end was the .500 Oakland A's who were nine games back of the 90-72 Rangers. The 90 games that the Rangers won were the worst of all the playoff teams. Even with the late season injury of MVP candidate Josh Hamilton and disappointing performance of ace Cliff Lee the Rangers still clinched on September 25 against the A's.

2. Cliff Lee, the ace pitcher for hire, was acquired by the Texas Rangers in a trade with the Seattle Mariners on July 9th. Lee as you may remember was traded last season by the Cleveland Indians to the Philadelphia Phillies right before the trade deadline. He was pivotal in the Phillies making it to the World Series for a second season in a row. Lee also has recently owned the Yankees and they attempted to aqcuire him this season to bolster their pitching staff but were outbid by the bankrupt Rangers. The trade was made possible because of bailout loan from Major League Baseball itself. So if the Rangers end up winning the whole thing they can thank Bud Selig and every other team owner for the cash.

3. LOL George W. Bush and Nolan Ryan. If you watched the first game of the ALCS against the Yankees you would have seen the two sitting side by side watching the game in seats close to home plate. Bush if you remember was the managing general partner of the Rangers for five seasons dating back to the early nineties. The guy was elected governor of Texas afterwards and became the President who presided over two wars, finacial meltdown, etc... Don't really know what that says about people in Texas when they elect a guy like that and this is coming from some one who isn't a big liberal type for your information. It will be real nice to watch the games in Texas and have his face plastered on TV with the Fox Sports hosts blabbering on and on. Nolan Ryan is the current president of the Rangers and has been seen at games all season long. The Rangers PR people seem to want to make into some kind of great Rangers hero but he played mostly for the Astros and Angels and was also apart of the great '69 Mets team.

4. The Giants essentially gave Bengie Molina to them. Molina wasn't producing with the bat this season and Buster Posey was so at midseason the Giants were looking to ship him off somewhere. The Rangers were a perfect fit as they wanted a veteran catcher to manage their pitching staff and teach the their young catcher about the position. Molina is well respected for his knowledge of the game and instincts as catcher. He batted .313 in the ALCS and had a crucial home run against the Yankees in game 4. Molina has very intimate knowledge about the Giants pitching staff as he was pivotal in their development. It's expected that he will tell the Rangers everything he knows. Is he still collecting a pay check from the Giants?

There are others things to mention but they start to veer into the realm of speculation and rumor like the famous photos from last season of alcoholic and married man of three Josh Hamilton carousing with three sluts and the claims from a unnamed source late in the season that Cliff Lee doesn't like playing for the Texas Rangers.
