Never stopped believing, our overdue World Series victory!
Earlier this season the San Francisco Giants were underdogs, no one expected this year's roster to make it to the playoffs, except for us, the fans, we perharps had our doubts, and as a loyal fan I have been waiting to celebrate a World Series victory since 2002, I was 18 yrs old back then, when Dusty Baker pulled Russ Ortiz from the mound on Game 6 and replaced him with Felix Rodriguez, who allowed Scott Spiezio a 3 run home-run from "Los Angeles Angels" at that time known as the "Anaheim Angels", We had only one more game to win and we were about to accomplish what the team has not accomplished since 1954, when they were still the New York Giants, the local SF team were called the Seals , and I was (-30) and my old man (-4) ,anyhow, back in 2002 , I must admit, it was a hell of a season , one season very vivid in my memories and one that I enjoyed very much, defeating the Cardinals to advance to the world series made us feel unstoppable, it was the Kent / Bonds era, everytime Barry Bonds stepped in the plate, the pitchers would just walk him, scared to become victims of the number 25 Giants' player. I would just laugh and "boo" this pitchers, thinking that we would win the Series on game 7, then it did not happen. The Giants lost 4-1 on game 7, I hated the Anaheim Angels, Baker for taking Ortiz off the mound and I hated Felix Rodriguez costing us game 6, in some way he cost the Giants the World Series. Eight years later we are back at the World Series, unlike our last World Series , I can celebrate each victory at a bar, and now we are playing with a completely different team, a bunch of guys that play as a cohesive unit in every single game, and they have gotten the job done so far, experts predicted the Giants losing against : The San Diego Padres, The Atlanta Braves, The Philadelphia Phillies. We overtook the Colorado Rockies and The Los Angeles Dodgers, and it felt good to be Giants fan again, the team did it again and brought us together as a city.
Journey's song "Don't stop believing" has been the Giant's theme song all season long, "There's magic inside" has been the slogan of the 2010 season marketing campaign , and it became reality and it showed all season long, There's Cy inside "Tim Lincecum", the Cy Young Award winner, "The Freak" proved to be worth every penny.
There's Panda inside and the number 48 "Pablo Sandoval" did create "Panda-monium" hitting RBI's when we needed them.
Juan Uribe lived up to his last name, his late 2nd cousin and former San Francisco Giants' player Jose Uribe, In case you did not know Jose Uribe back in 1985 was a fan favorite at Candlestick Park, where the home crowd had a unique chant for a relatively light-hitting infielder. When he would come to bat, fans on one side of the stadium would shout "OOH!" after which fans on the other side would respond with "REE-bay!" He also received the uncommon nickname José "Game Winning" Uribe from ESPN announcer Chris Berman when the stat known as the "Game Winning RBI" was an official statistic, yes! he is the reason why Juan Uribe receives the same chants, like I said "living up to his surname" is not an easy task but on Game 6 Ooh-Ree-bay" chants exploded in all the "sports bars" across the Bay , when on top of the 8th inning Uribe hits the solo home-run that put us up 3-2 .
And of course, Buster Posey did his thing this season but it was on September 21st, Posey stroked an 8th inning home run against the Chicago Cubs in Wrigley Field to win the game 1-0, the only time in major league history the feat has been accomplished by a rookie on a first place team in a September pennant race ,he showed us he meant business. How could you not become and instant fan of the recently adquired outfielder "Cody Ross", The Florida Marlins placed him on waivers and we claimed him. In the first game of the following 2010 National League Championship Series, against the Philadelphia Phillies, Ross hit two solo home runs off of starting pitcher Roy Halladay, the initial home run was the first hit off Halladay in the playoffs, as Halladay had thrown a no-hitter in his only prior appearance.
And don't forget the man who is every major league sluggers' nightmare, Brian "The Beard" Wilson, who leads the major leagues in saves, "FEAR THE BEARD", indeed , he means business with his four seam fastball that hit 98-100mph. The San Francisco Giants has brought us together as a city.
On Oct 27th, we will be watching the 106th edition of Major League Baseball's championship series a.k.a the World Series, and we are set to face The Texas Rangers, and in their respective league championship series, the Rangers and Giants eliminated the 2009 World Series teams, the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies, to advance. It is going to be an interesting World Series to watch, In the offense we will need our sluggers to take charge and hit homers Uribe, Sandoval and Ross we will need fast players to steal bases, yes we need Andres Torres for that, and I see Posey, Huff , Burrell, and Freddy Sanchez taking care of our RBI needs, and we obviously need impeccable pitching, we have arguably the best pitchers at this time. We can safely say we can count on our pitchers : Matt Cain, Lincecum , Bumgarner and as far as reliever I have seen Affeldt and Javier Lopez doing a hell of a job, as far as closing we just need to call "The Beard" out to the mound and that's the ballgame!! I am proud to say ...My name is Percy Ramos and I am a San Francisco Giants' fan. Let's go Giants!!!!!!!!

Well, I don't believe in jinkness. But I think you shouldn'talk too much about it . . .
. . . Brother Percy Romos put some serious time into that rant and I feel his feel from afar. His lists appear to be accurate and his commentary is astute. West Texas might go “GUI” and East Texas might go “YEN.” It might happen at an important time, but more likely it will happen very small and the Fox guys won’t even notice.
He is the World's Most Annoying Rooster.
