Around SBN: NFL Players Ready To Welcome Gay Teammate

Some nice stuff here. Agreed with this one:
"The vibe this time around is much more carefree. The 2010 Giants are rag-tag, wacky, team-oriented, lovable. No superstars or prima donnas allowed. In truth, this group matches their home city better than that tense, humor-free group of 2002."

An omen:
As a franchise, the Giants have gone 55 years without a World Series title. That’s third on the futility list, behind the Cubs and the Indians.

Tim Lincecum’s number is 55. Lincecum was drafted by the Cubs and Indians. Lincecum is pitching tonight.

Timmy grew up where the nearest MLB franchise is Seattle. Seattle has never played in the World Series.

Timmy's first big purchase as a big leaguer

was Dave Roberts’ Mercedes. Dave Roberts was on the 2004 Red Sox World Series roster but did not play.

The Giants last won a World Series while in New York. New York needed three more wins as of yesterday to reach the World Series. The Giants are number three on the futility list.

The last time the Giants were two outs away from post-season elimination and had a player named Uribe they planned to bench him and there was an earthquake.

I thought the team of 2002 had plenty of personality

Even if Jeff Kent was drab, Bonds went into the stands to cheer with the fans, Aurillia and Snow were
fan favorites. Kirt Rueter and Rob Nen were also fan favorites, Russ Ortiz was popular, as was Dusty,
and even the BFI had his supporters. The bad press of the 2002 team was more of a media creation,
than how the fans at the time felt. Watching the 2002 series, the announcers made it seem as if the
giants were perrenial winners, the darth vaders of baseball, while the angels were america’s team.
What bull. That 2002 team was a great team. Too bad FRod only had one pitch.

there were plenty of characters on that team

and let us not forget dunston…the worlds greatest cheerleader

cant find the vid on youtube anymore…but what is cool…his son, who asked him why daddy doesnt play anymore…that kid is now an hs baseball phenom

fox played sf as the big baddies, cuz they were trying to create a soap opera…didnt work…the ratings still sucked

Anybody hear Jeff Passan on the Marty Lurie show?

Who’s the idiot who told him SF is a 49ers town? I’ve been saying that’s not true for a while, and I definitely don’t think it’s true anymore.
