Actually Urban made a good observation in the pre-game

In hindsight it was probably stupid of management to move Cain up a day. Because of off days the last few weeks, the pitchers have been pitching on 5 days rest lately. Also, the decision was made late, so his normal schedule was also disrupted.

I’m not making excuses for Cain, but as I said in hindsight it probably would have been better to have him pitching on his scheduled day.

I remember when the Giants had that Q&A and Wotus and Bochy got ejected in the Dodger game last year, Bochy came back to the dugout asking Flannery what he was doing and that he couldn’t just make decisions without checking first or something of the sorts.

So I Googled "Guillen Sucks." This is the first link.
Now, a year and a half into his three contract, not only do Royal fans think Guillen is nothing special and quite frankly sucks, but Guillen himself thinks the same. Here some feel good comments from the so-called Royals’ slugger:

"I hate making excuses," he said. "If I suck, then I suck. And I suck. That’s the way I’m playing. If you suck, you suck. You have to take responsibility in this game. Right now, that’s the way I feel.

"Yes, I suck."

Well there you have it. Wait, there’s more:

"I’m embarrassed by the money that I’m making," Guillen said, "and playing the way I’ve been playing. I’ll swear that on my kids’ (lives). I feel very embarrassed.

"Sometimes, I feel I should take money out of my own pocket and buy tickets for every fan. Because you know what? For a $12-million man, these are not the numbers you should be expecting. I admit it. I’m not playing to my potential."

Two bases loaded walks in a row, in the first inning of a crucial game when you’re trying to win a division title, is absolutely inexcusable. I don’t care if the umpire is squeezing the strike zone.

They have got to get started earlier tomorrow.

Just when they start getting to them, they run out of outs. They can’t piss away the first 5 or 6 innings of a game anymore trying to figure out a pitcher. The Padres seem to figure our pitchers out in a hurry. Tomorrow is all about their offense because Sanchez is going to melt-down sure as hell

Also win series in the playoffs before spitting the bit

Even with an incompetent goalie and a injured danny heatley.

The sharks are not chokers

They are the only sports team in the bay area that’s not a fucking embarrassment owed by a bunch of fucking morons.

oh i dont think they're chokers.

i should’ve been more clear. i just meant that people (mostly east coasters) call them that

I’m uncomfortable with your verb here. Also, Detroit doesn’t get a lot of play out here in NYC.

I would have no problem with the sharks going to san diego in exchange for a WS win

hell no.

I would never take that. Sharks are our only good team and we have good fans and you want to send that poor team to San Diego??

I might be open to them moving to Quebec for 5 runs by the Giants tomorrow

So if Atlanta loses today, which appears likely, then ...

the Giants would need to lose 3 in a row to be out of play-offs. Good thing we have Cain ready to go Tuesday againts the Braves. Now I get why Bochy flip-flopped him and Zito.

I was under the impression that

if the Braves get swept by the Phillies, even if the Padres sweep us (knock on fucking wood), we’d still win the wildcard. Though we’d have to face the Phillies in the first round.

I said if Atlanta loses today.

Then, worse case (i.e. Atlanta wins tomorrow), we would still be playing on Tuesday. I just think that is pretty amazing.

by ErodCal on Oct 2, 2010 4:25 PM PDT up reply actions

Ah I see.

Let’s all hope it does not get past tomorrow. I wanna clinch the division with a win again that lowly Latos.

Yes...

They will have to beat Dirty, LinceKKKKKKKKKKKum and Raisin’ Cain.

by haemaker on Oct 2, 2010 4:23 PM PDT up reply actions

Like there’s any chance in hell that SF will ever beat ATL in anything relating to getting into the playoffs.

Maybe after Cox retires.

by cybermaldonado on Oct 2, 2010 4:27 PM PDT up reply actions

Trying to think positive thoughts…

…It will be better to hear K&K calling the Giants victory tomorrow.

…The Padres fans are now all excited again, a win tomorrow with an ATL win and their hopes are once again crushed.

…It would be nice to have Ross, Fontenot, Burrell and Guillen all go nuts on Latos tomorrow.

by nofreetime on Oct 2, 2010 4:28 PM PDT reply actions

Guillen should never play again

But if he gets hot he can carry an entire team so he’s starting, science.

I hope 9/12 Latos shows up

Or even better, 9/17

tomorrow I have an Academy soccer match, then a high school soccer match, taping the Arsenal/Chelsea match and capping it off with SF v SD. My combat experience is what will get me through all of it
