I've been a Giant fan since I've been little but knew nothing about the history or great talent we had throughout the years. I been a "real" fan, as in following stats, players, and baseball in general, only a few years ago. Ever since meeting one of my now great friends Amitoj and joining fantasy baseball, I have to say I've loved watching Giants baseball.
Last year I fell for the most underrated pitcher on the Giants staff, Matt motha f-ing Cain. I was able to go to a few games in '08 and '09 and was thrilled to see Cain pitch beautifully. I don't remember how, but I managed to grab one of his bobbleheads last year and have kept it on my dresser ever since. Foolishly though, while cleaning my room and easying my mind for Game 3, I knocked over my bobblehead and broke the bobblehead into pieces. I scrambled for some crazy glue and couldn't find any. Luckily my roomie did and I emptied that bottle to reconstruct my broken corazon.. i mean Cain.
I labored (for a good ten minutes) to get him back together, thinking that if I didn't, Cain would fail today with his matchup vs. Cole and the Phils. I was overjoyed when I saw his little bobblyhead move about again and I went to bed, making sure I didn't do anything else, because I didn't need to.
Phew, I though to myself, somehow satisfying that crazy superstitious baseball fan inside of me. And I'm happy I did.
What a great win today!!! MATT CAIN AND BRIAN WILSON AND CODY ROSS AND FREDDY SANCHEZ AND AUBREY HUFF AND EDGAR RENTERIA AND AARON ROWAND (didn't think I would be saying those last two). Great win all around which I hope will make those east coast writers think twice before writing anything.
Anyway, I hope for more. It's been a great run so far and I'm amped with excitement. I hope to keep writing on here, even if sporadically, and I'm happy to join all the rest of the McCovens! I've been following you guys since April and have finally had some courage to write on here!
