Bell, not Wilson, named best closer in the majors. No stories to link to yet, just twitter chatter.

Thoughts?

Consolation prize is a consolation prize.

I think it will fire Wilson up. If that is a good or bad thing, I don’t know.

No Problem

Wilson is the ninja, he would rather roll under the radar.

I find the Twitter somewhat confusing at times.

Utter frustration and futility.

Also the ninja thing. Ninja is Japanese for ’I’d get my ass kicked in a fair fight’.

So Wilson has a lower ERA, more saves, more K’s and less walks.

I have to agree, Heath Bell was TOTALLY the right choice!

Bell beats Wilson in SV %

Which as we all know is the end all factor when determining who was a better closer.

Wilson beats him in the K/9, BB/9, WHIP, ERA, and WAR.

Just another strawhat decision.

Brian Sabean strongly encourages you to disregard the drudgery of your employment responsibilities and join him in the consumption of spirituous libations. JUST NOT IN HIS EARS.

This was a no brainer.

Wilson 3 W’s
Bell 6 W’s

Duh!

Q: Did you ever make an offer for Vladimir Guerrero?
Sabean: In a word: No. If we had signed Guerrero or [Gary] Sheffield, we would have been without [Long list of replacement level vets]—obviously not being able to field a competitive team, especially from an experience standpoint, given our level of spending.

That is a terrible name for an award

I'm ok with this

Wilson is amazing and doesn’t need a stupid award to know that. Besides it might make arbitration a bit easier on the FO, not that I think he should be cheapskated.
