Well… 3 more games to try. I don’t like what getting swept will do for the staff should the Giants make the playoffs, but it is certainly more important to actually get there first. Matt Cain had a bad game tonight. If the pitchers suck, the team has almost zero chance of winning the game. We’ve known this for the past two years.

never ever called unless it looks like they lean into it

It is “supposed” to be not a HBP if they make no effort to get out of the way. Either way, the height challenged batter couldn’t get out of the way of that one.

If he had been ruled to have swung, then it would not have been HBP. So that whole debacle turned on the b.s. no swing call.

The bat clearly broke the plane of home plate, but his wrists didn’t snap very hard, which is prolly what gave him the call.

So I guess if a batter pirouettes all the way around without snapping his wrists it’s no swing these days

- The padres had to use their best relief pitchers
- We have 3 games (2 left in the series) to get a win

I'm saying don't blame Freddy, blame the team.

Cain didn’t do so good, middle of the order did nothing, and there was a lot of luck against us tonight.

That “we’ve got bad luck” shit is getting stale after 56 years. This team makes its own luck with bonehead plays like that.

I get what you are saying but that was an epic baserunning fail.

I CAN HAZ MARK REYNOLDS?

Yeah, he didn't help.

I was just saying, be more fair. For some of the bad he did, he did some of the good as well.

Again, it’s situational baserunning. He has to know that his run is meaningless so he should be EXTRA CAREFUL.

This + you have to just look to the side to see where they are playing…Venable was basically hugging the archway.

Yes, it was a bonehead play!

Nah

Freddy is a good ballplayer, but even he would tell you that was an unforgivable base-running mistake.

I’m not sure why the first base coach wasn’t helping more on that unless Freddy just ignored him.

Are you serious? He had some of the best AB’s for the Giants tonight. The Huff out fooled us all so I cannot blame him for running. The only thing he fucked up on was the ball that bounced off his glove. Aside from that he was fantastic.

doan worry, poplo loe he team, he wan get berry good for body to play the beisbol

the ball that bounced off his glove, would have been an out and Gonzalez doesn’t bat in that inning (hence doesn’t hit the 3-run HR. but, the coulda woulda shoulda just doesn’t work anymore

Not his fault that Gonzo hit a homer on a 1-3 count.

That play was no gimme. It was a tough play. Perhaps we’ve been spoiled by his defense?

It was a shitty ass pitch on Cain’s part just a belt high nothing ball.

There are stomach punches.
Then there are ball punches.
Then there are those times when someone grabs your balls and twists them around a million times.
Then there are times when instead of a person, it’s a blender.
Then there’s Giants baseball.

I’m gonna go with grabbing my balls and twisting them around a million times. That sounds like fun right now.
