Why?
The Giants have shown the ability to put these sorts of games behind them as soon as they are over
because of zito,
and then sanchez, as much as ive liked him this year, could completely melt down on us
also, the padres are 10-5 against us
I'm not worried about Zito
He’s been pitching well lately as has Sanchez
Don't be.
That’s what they want. I like how they could make us feel like shit when we’re on the ones in a better spot. Can’t let them in our minds. Fuckers.

you know what I hate?
Narration in film. I can’t take it. Ugh. Why? Why?
Also, when the Giants do not win. I also hate that.
I LOVE narration in film. But I understand why someone might not like it.

I agree. There has to be a good balance between narration and letting a picture speak for itself.
I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing Matt Cain.
Sometimes, it's better when they don't speak at all, or sparingly.
Pablo Sandoval: The Triforce of Courage
Buster Posey: The Triforce of Wisdom
Brandon Belt: The Triforce of Power
No seriously. They talk too much in films today.
Actions speak greater than words.

Depends. Which film?
Pablo Sandoval: The Triforce of Courage
Buster Posey: The Triforce of Wisdom
Brandon Belt: The Triforce of Power
I tend to feel that any narration — even a speck — is an admission of failure by a filmmaker.
And yes, I recognize this makes me a) a crank and b) wrong, but I just can’t take it any more.
Fwiw, I switched to that Shawshank flick, which I never saw, heard narration, and switched back.

These Padres-Giants matchups are almost always low-scoring affairs. And nary a Jon Garland in sight for the homer happy Giants.
Well, on the plus side
I now have the information on how to get solar power for my house. Thank you, Duane Kuiper. Thank you, Giants. Thank you, sun.
Imagine if the Padres hadn’t hit three homers and they scored their only run of the game on an Eckstein dribbler, a Tejada jam shot, a Guillen bobble, and a sacrifice fly. Imagine if the Giants hit the ball all over the park without scoring.
We should probably thank Adrian Gonzalez.

And should the Giants make the playoffs, everyone will wonder what Matt Cain will show: Colorado in Sept or Padres in October.
Remember, Atlee was an All Star when his whole world blew up. He was NEVER quite the same on the hill after that.
I’m not going to go as far as to call it a career defining meltdown, but there is absolutely a sharp contrast to Matt Cain tonight and the Matt Cain that pitched his ass off in Colorado.
ATLEE’S SHOULDER WAS HELD TOGETHER WITH OATMEAL AND CAT FUR. Other than that, it’s exactly the same situation.

At the All Star Break? The one he pitched in? I don't remember that. Didn't his problems occur much later.
He missed most of August, pitched only 56 innings after the All-Star Game, and he pitched in 33 innings or so the next season. Also, he had an ERA of 3.38 after the All-Star Break, so it’s not as if he was soiling himself out there. The Lynn-ruined-Hammaker myth is one of my least favorite.

I would have used a somewhat stronger term when describing Scioscia. They ONLY team that he could hit was the Giants for most of his career.

But seriously, folks, it was pretty freakin awesome 5 years ago when FRobbie gave Brendan Donnelly the pine tar treatment, then got in it with Scioscia (damn! that’s hard to type), Guillen got mixed up in it, then hit a revenge home run and flicked the bat away as he admired it sailing out of the Big A. It was truly classic.
That is all.

on my behalf sorry for the Giants sucking today dude.
Oh no they didn't.
You have to understand this is my first season as a Giants fan. I just got into baseball again around last year. For months I was preparing myself for leadoff Rowand, slow Bengie, and great pitching. I just love watching the players. I really like these guys. It’s been a good season and it would be nice to see it last a little longer. I can’t tell you how grateful I am about all the people that I have met since I discovered the Giants. It’s been a blessing. Good people indeed. Thanks guys.

Lol my story a lil similar
I loved the Giants as a child. Got into being a real true Giants Fan last year when we almost made the playoffs, I like this team a lot. Torture 2010 is killing me dude. Hopefully we can rally and win this game. My personal favorite game last year was Uribe’s walk-off against the bums, but Sanchez’s no-hitter very close 2nd. Last year was awesome, but this year with Huff, Burrell, Torres, and last, but certainly not least Posey is really special! I know they can get in, but torture from this awesome team is always a guarantee considering bork is running it.
I was around for the 2000's
but the past two years I’m serious about their baseball.
Yeah I was 11. I followed really closely in the early 2000’s and again the last 3 years or so (mostly because of this site).

I don’t want to indulge the lineup whiners, but Bruce Bochy really should’ve started Cody Ross over Jose Guillen in RF.
You mean someone batting .219 against lefties shouldn’t have started against one?

I question the Giants' strategy of building up SD's hopes in this game
only to deliver a soul-crushing late inning defeat. But, what the hell, I’m in.
I fearfully expected this.
The pads haven’t delivered offensively lately before this game. They’re coming here more desperate. I just had a dreadful feeling they were gonna lay all the hits on us today. Just was not comfortable playing Cain on the first game when pads came in so desperate. Now it’s just gonna add way more pressure on the Giants. fuuuuuck.
