I was reading about this whole Freddy Sanchez surgery thing, and this is really ridiculous.
The Giants Brass said tthat this did not show up on his physical in Oct. when they resigned him.
I just had labrum surgery on Oct 21, and I can tell you this is not an injury that just shows up. Its a painful injury that lets you know its there constantly. You can lay on that arm.
I tore my right labrum 5 years ago playing ball. I suffered through the pain and continued to go to work every day becaseu i could not afford the surgery. I do not have a desk job, I change truck and tractor tires. Which takes a lot of upper body strength. Also I play a very high level of softball (my hard ball days are sadly behind me) where I play 2B. This injury did sap my power in my swing and made long, hard throws very painful. But I found a way to play and work through it. I know that I dont play at the level of a maor leaguer, but throwing a ball is the same no matter where you do it.
My recovery from this surgery is a long one. I will return to work next Tuesday, at a light duty. I have been told by my Dr. and Therapist that I can not begin to throw a ball until late April.
Im sure Fred has a more strict rehab then I did, but come on if he just had surgery, we will not see him till the all-star break!
This whole thing makes me so mad, he either lied about the pain to get the money or the Giants have the dumbest Dr.'s EVER!
He should have had this surgery right after the season so he would have been ready or sucked it up and beeen a man and have had it next Nov.
I wrote this on here to give all of you the truth about this injury, since Im sure most of you are as mad about all this as I am, and now you know the facts about it.
