One day was all he needed. The Purple Dinosaur Jesus Team could not find a spot for one day. Doesn’t sound very christian to me. I saw the ankle injury happen in Reno. Sal was trying to get back to second on a throw.

I think that's a tad unfair.
There is nothing about being a Christian company that requires it to conduct its business badly. I have done consulting work, for example, with a couple different companies that profess to be Christian, and despite my extreme skepticism about religion (to put as gently as I can), I found them to be good people who were generally living the values they professed. My encounters with them were in the areas of sales negotiation and also in litigation. In both cases, they were quite ethical and quite ready to accept responsibility for their own actions. And they both happen to be really profitable companies— not because they are cut-throat, but neither are they pushovers.
So in this instance, there is nothing about the Rockies’ self-righteous asshole pose of being “Christian” (cough dinosaur dancing to distract opposing pitchers cough screwing with speed gun cough not the same humidification of balls for both halves of the innings cough) that requires them to be purely charitable at the cost of bad business.

whoa whoa whoa, has there actually been suspicion of them not using the same humidification of balls for both halves of the innings or is this just lunatic fringe conspiracy theory?

A lot of suspicion.
But I don’t see how that necessarily contradicts “just lunatic fringe conspiracy,” as that IS suspicion. I personally believe it, and at least a few others on here do, too, but I can’t remember offhand who it is. You can do a search, though; it’s been well discussed here.

A few players have also complained. There’s no question there’s potential to cheat, but who really knows.
Proud father of Barry Zito. As long as he keeps throwing strikes, that is.

Mayor..
It is a tad unfair, but I am not a fan of hypocrisy. The Rockies kind is of a particularly virulent type.
This situation just reminded me of United States Senators that have extremely good health care for life, deciding there is nothing wrong with the health care industry in America. It just set me off.
/ Apologies, political comment off.

I agree with you that hypocrisy is bad and always worth calling out...
But my point is that I don’t think this qualifies as hypocrisy, as there is nothing about being a (true) Christian that requires a company to make a bad business/baseball decision just to do something nice for someone. If they are being ethical and treating the player fairly, then that’s all they need do.
Now, I would agree that if these people really lived their values, lots of rockies players/executives would get together and privately cover the guy’s insurance premium.

Sad, but at least this guy has had a job that has paid him over 100k per year since ‘96. I don’t think the Rockies owed him anything but I bet the Giants org would have probably brought him up for a day. I guess Fasano is probably not a Republican now if he ever was.
