5 games out with 6 to play...go with the vets
Why not start Winn and Molina. Not sure I can take another year (at least) of this.

Another idiotic thing
Sabean said Posey, who is listed at 6-foot-1, 205 pounds, is “going to have to get stronger. He’s going to have to build himself up over the winter, because it is a long season at that position.”
So he needs to be fatter and/or add muscle while losing flexibility.
Meanwhile:
Joe Mauer- 6’5" 225 lbs
Jorge Posada-6’2" 215 lbs
Victor Martinez-6’2" 210 lbs
Russel Martin- 5’10" 210 lbs
I mean, he is a little bit lighter than these guys but he’s pretty close to their listed height/weight. But catchers have to look like Bengie in order to survive a season, I guess.

I don’t see why gaining 10 pounds of muscle would be a bad thing.
seriously, is this something to complain about?

Depends on what he gives up to get those extra 10 pounds of muscle? Everything ever written about Posey is he’s a hard worker, so I imagine he’s in very good shape. If he gives up flexibility in order to gain that weight, then I think it is a problem as it increases his injury risk.
But really, I have little faith in Sabean so I feel it’s more Sabean having a mental image of what a catcher is suppose to look like, i.e. Molina.
You’re probably right, I just read that after I saw the line-up so I was already pissed off.

Just by getting some modicum of upper body exercise, he’s going to put on that weight. Upper body development continues well into the 20’s.
Utter frustration and futility.

JESUS CHRIST
Why the hell did this team even bring up players from the minor leagues for September call ups?

Have to learn how to be a gamer by watching Rowand and Winn before you actually get the chance to play.

I hope we lose
There is no reason for Molina and Winn to play besides piss us fans off. It was stupid when we were actually in the race, but now there is no justification other than to stick it to the fans. I hate baseball right now.

I’d rather they didn’t lose.

Posey
He had his chance on Saturday, and he BLEW it! There going to sign a FA veteran catcher in the offseason to start next year while Posey eats, gets stronger and learns never to go 0-4 with an error EVER AGAIN!

that’s the way it is. if you’re a young player and don’t hit a homerun in your first 4 at bats, you get to ride the bench with the rest of the rooks and learn how to play by watching the vets stink it up on the field.
