Very nice work. The only think that would help further would be to see the fates of those swings. I’m curious as to how Lewis fares on the balls that he swings at that are out of the zone (is his power low and away). Also, does Pablo really swing at the inside and outside pitch, or does he only swing at inside or outside pitches and the data is skewed because he is a switch hitter?
Proud adoptive daddy for the Big Unit, who is currently teaching Madison Bumgarner the art of being intimidating.
SPAM
But tasty spam. It seems (to me anyway) that when Fred goes out of the zone, he’s looking to smack it the other way.

I’ll get around to plotting some swing results later tonight.
Here’s Molina’s plot

You can tell that it’s a different shape from Sandoval’s swing zone because Molina is a right-handed batter only. Looks to really like the down and away pitches.
LOL balls at 0 feet.
Context, people. More context is good. Less context is bad. If you're willing to be reductive, then you're willing to be wrong.

wait what direction is this going
where is inside and where is outside?
A hearty thank you to Rich Aurilia for all the good memories, and to the Niners for finally getting the uni's (mostly) right.
Think of it as if you were sitting behind the plate — ie: catcher’s POV.
Negative numbers on the x-axis are where RHB’s stand. Positive numbers are where LHB’s stand.
got it
and that doesn’t change depending on if the batter is RH or LH

oh
and are the numbers an actual unit of measure?

Nope, it’s always the same for this type of plot.

Both axises are in ft.
so Benjie
swings at pitches literally two feet off the outside corner

not clear
it is always the catcher’s point of view, right?
so Fred swings at lots of pitches just outside, and gets lots of his hits on them, right?

Blood spatter.
What period of time do these cover? All the pitches in a month? Looks like too few to be a season (although maybe so for poor Fred).
Forsan et haec olim meminisse iuvabit... Maybe.
