Giants were in this thing
Both of my CFB teams won today; Oregon (woot) and finally, finally, San Jose State wins. Sure, we beat Cal Poly, but a win is a win. The football team sang the fight song to us and we played We Are the Champions to them in return.
Only three weeks until we get dismantled again, this time at the hands of Boise State. Joy.

the Broncos are intresting. I still think they area little thin on the line, both sides of the ball, so a team faceing them a few weeks into the season with a running attack ( do the Spartans have one this year?) could look a lot differnt then when the Beavers faced them a couple weeks ago..
That’s it! Katie bar the door for this 79 win team is star crossed! And I am loving it.
SJS’s run game is piss poor. Lamon Muldrow broke off a good run, 71 yards to the Cal Poly 2 yard line. He finished with 184 yards.
That said, I think last week against Stanford they ended up with 20 rush yards, after being in the negative for most of the game. But the QB situation might be stabilizing, after Kyle Reed was benched for being a wanna-be Michael Vick. Jordan LaSecla started for the second game in a row and hasn’t been awful.

Interesting post-game tidbits
Manager Bruce Bochy said that he would talk to Johnson soon and discuss whether the left-hander preferred a particular scenario for his final appearance of the season — and possibly his career. Johnson, who has pitched out of the bullpen since returning from his shoulder injury, hasn’t definitively said whether he’s retiring after this season.
Bochy also said that it looked “more doubtful” that rookie left-hander Madison Bumgarner will receive a start in the season’s final week.
Good on both counts

Just say no to paying Freddy Sanchez’s 8 million dollar option. It’s too bad we can’t jettison Garko as easily- though I guess the Giants don’t have someone significantly better to play first next year for now. Maybe Garko cracked under the pressure and will do better in non playoff pressure games. But it reminds me of Cody Ransom and how once in like 2006, the ball was hit to him in the eighth or ninth against the Dodgers with the bases loaded the infield in and one out and he booted it. He wasn’t with the team the next year and I think he was exposed as not being able to make the big play, so why should he be around?

I love Ishi (more than his play warrants probably) and I hated the Garko trade when it happened. I’m just much more concerned about things like benching Fred Lewis for no real reason, giving Manny Burriss the 2nd base job because of spring stats, and anointing Gene Velez the leadoff hitter for 2010. This team has a bizarre way of evaluating talent.

Of course you don’t see were the improvement is going to come from because :
1) Most young players do not develop on the linar path.
2) If it is under 30 the current manager refuses to play it. (Hell at this point I am sure Big Head would sign Joe Castle again just avoid playing Panda so much.) and if the manager does not play them you can’t see them. None of us can.

smells like a fluke, and looks like a fluke… is probably a fluke.
Sabes will give him at least 8 Million.
It had been believed that the Giants would decline to pick up the $8 million option on Sanchez’s 2010 contract — which includes a $600,000 buyout — and try to sign him to a multiyear deal with a lower average annual value. But Sanchez’s injuries, not just the knee but also a shoulder ailment, limited him to 25 games after the Giants acquired him from Pittsburgh on July 29 and have cast doubt upon his future with San Francisco.

I’m not really worried about that right now. I’m worried about having successful surgery and getting healthy.Wherever I am next year, I know I’m going to be 100 percent and ready to go.”

Wainwright is now up to 130 pitches in the game and the Cards have been ahead for a couple innings.. Think they not trying to get him the Cy Young?
Giant season effort summary:
Was just enough ensure the Dodgers won the division.
Was just little enough to ensure the Giants lost the wild card.
thats dumb
especially since they need him for the post season

The Cardinals are in this thing!!!
By beating the Rockies, 6-3, the Cardinals clinch the NL Central.
If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding.
I think I’m going to root for the AL this year. Looks like it’ll have to be whoever wins the Central Division. Sigh..

Same here.
In one of the least-appetizing postseason lineups I’ve ever seen, my support goes to:
1) Detroit/Minnesota
Really, the only AL Central team Giants fans have any reason to cheer against is the Indians and their slightly-longer-than-ours wait for a title.
2) Cardinals
I know, I know… One Flap Down, and Carpenter or Wainwright possibly stealing the Cy, and they just won it in 2005… this was not an easy list to make.
3) Phillies
I know, I know… Manuel took a bunch of douchey Phils over a far-more-deserving Panda, and they just won it last year…
4) Red Sox
Yeah, I’m sick of the Sawx, too. But anything that galls a Yankee fan is OK with me.
5) Angels
If 2002 never happened, we have less reason to despise them, right? Right? /crickets
6) Rockies
Division opponents are always to be cheered against, especially when they’ve been the source of such heartbreak.
7) Yankees
I FUCKING HATE the Yankees. They are closer to tying for last here than you might think.
8) Dodgers
In the words of Mr. Hitler, “F’ing cholos.”
Giants wins feel better than Dodger losses, but it's darn close.

Obviously, I meant the Cards won it in 2006, not 2005. I’d hate to take away from that scintillating Astros-White Sox tilt.

I think the screen would be covered
From all the fapping in the broadcast booth.
Insanity is just a state of mind.
Myself and about 3 or 4 others would be definitely go for the Red Sox.
Side note: when the Red Sox play the Giants next season, I promise I will not be on McC. I won’t even show up for any post game threads. As I am rooting for the Red Sox that weekend, I will ban myself for those 3 days.

I support two teams in the NL, which is tougher than one AL and NL, I think. Everyone who does it has their reasons, of course. One friend is a Diamondbacks/Yankees fan. His dad grew up in the Bronx, and the whole family is die hard Yankees fans. They also lived in AZ for about 15 years before the D’Backs got there, and then became fans in 1998.

My preference would be:
1. Yankees
2. Rockies
3. Meteor hits the stadium
We're all basically Pedro Feliz.
Yankees
I don’t give a shit about them outside of the media pissing themselves over everything the Red Sox or Yankees do. Angels however, are purely evil.

this is what Marisa posted
Offered: Quite a few random items:
Posted by: “marisita”
Sat Sep 26, 2009 12:53 pm (PDT)
Such as…
1. 2 standard size pillows, in good shape, not used too much, just have too many pillows in our house.
2. 2 vases, both clear, medium-size
3. Misc cosmetic things: full can of coppertone waterbabies 50spf lotion spray. Did not like the spray idea after I bought it- but it’s new and full. Nearly full container of DKNY body lotion- nice smelling, but I’ll never get around to using it- someone may as well take advantage. Clinique superdefense triple action moisturizer spf 25- again, nearly full, just never use it- someone else may as well. And lastly, Burts Bees Super Shine Natural Lip gloss in Nectar Nude- bought it, used it 1x, did not like it, you can have it!
4. I posted this before and got a response, but no one picked it up, so….for when you are pregnant and after you have the baby: stetch mark cream and nipple cream- both nearly new.
5. This is the most random one of all, really- it’s like a bra without being a bra- two cups for your boobs, they STICK on to your boobs, so you can wear dresses, with straps, etc, and not have to wear a bra. Kind of random, and I bought it and never used them, as I got pregnant and just doesn’t work on nursing boobs. If you are a C or D cup, it’ll probably work for you. They’re $50 new!
6. G Diapers- 2 diapers, and the inserts- did not like the concept, too high maintenance for my life! If you want them, they work, just too much work for me.
That’s it! for now.
Let me know if you’d like any of this…

Didn’t bother to watch the game today. I did, however, have dinner at a place called Nagato Sukiyaki, right here in Sacramento, and boy was it good! Quality fish, low low prices, and a restrained Sacramentan ambiance that cannot be discounted. Sacramento residents, be sure to stop by Fulton and Marconi, in the Mueller Center, for all your sushi needs!
So much for the dude who brilliantly said “Every year, every team goes on a 8-10 game winning streak.”
LOL Baggs comments
This guy was just letting them fly. “Quality” input, eh?
Hey, how’s yer Buster Poser doing now that he’s getting the starts that you guys have been whining for? Is he an All Star yet? Quite an upgrade over Molina, though, right?
LOL!
Not to worry, Jint fans. I hear things will take off just as soon as stooopid Botchy starts playing Posey instead of Molina. I hear Posey is the team’s second-best hitter, so I can’t wait to see him ride to the rescue. The rest of the wild card teams are shaking in their boots. Just shaking, I tell you.
LOL.
"I FEEL A LOT OF HAPPY!" - Juan Uribe
FREE BUSTER POSEY
Don’t you know that all young players, if they don’t immediately tear it up in their first 2 starts, are worthless? And that most players can easily come back after a 2 week break with very little playing time and have no problem shaking off the rust?
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.

LOL FRED!
Velez 2B.
Lewis LF.
Winn CF.
Sandoval 3B.
Uribe SS.
Bowker RF.
Ishikawa 1B.
Whiteside C.
Cain P.
Did Posy get injured? Did I miss something? If not this is fail.
DOUBLE SWITCHES AND MATCH-UPS, THAT'S WHAT BRUCE BOCHY DOES!
Winn in CF. Only how many years too late?
I don’t mind Whiteside but how about Posey getting a couple games vs the non Big Z pitchers?
That’s it! Katie bar the door for this 79 win team is star crossed! And I am loving it.
