About this whole Bengie Molina contract situation......

I don’t see any problem with his comments.

Me neither...
It doesn’t seem like he’s crying about it.
So I don’t know why everyone is saying that.
It just seems like he recognizes what’s going on, and he’s trying not to be broken up over it.

I have no problem with him feeling it, but he really needs a PR team to tell him stuff like this won’t help his contract status.

Am I missing something?
Why do people think Bengie is acting like a baby? I don’t think he said anything that isn’t true, nor did he say anything bad about the organization. All I got from his quote is that he thought he played well, but if the Giants don’t bring him back, he’ll move on. Also, if management has a message for him they should just tell him. Seems reasonable to me.

Because you don’t talk about your contract status in the middle of a playoff run. Save that shit for the offseason.

This is true...
But it doesn’t make Bengie a baby.

What’s Bengie’s problem? Doesn’t he have any common sense? This has nothing to do with next year, this is because he’s been hurt and Whiteside has been forced to play every inning of every game for over a week now. They’re trying to make the playoffs THIS YEAR, Bengie. It’s about now.

Exactly....
think how refreshing it would have been if he would have said how much he welcomed Posey up here. That because he is banged up the team needs all the help they can get.

But the question wasn't
“what’s your feeling of Buster Posey being called up?”
It was: “do you think management is sending you a message by calling up Posey?”

I agree Bengie is acting a little butthurt, but this definitely has to do with next year. Starting Posey’s arb clock means something for the future, though I’m not completely sure if it means we figure we’ll start the year with him because he’s on pace for Super Two anyways, or if it means we’ll definitely want to bring in a one year stop gap like Bengie because this means we actually have to leave Posey in the minors later next year to avoid Super Two….so my point is it definitely has some impact (or should, at least, if we had a competent GM) on next season.

Wait....
They are calling up Posey to sit on the bench? That really makes this moronic. If you call him up to play, it’s another story

When Bengie is healthy by the end of the week and back to starting 6 days a week while Posey rides the pine, this is going to look pretty silly
