I’d count Pleasant Hill as Eastern CoCo, especially since DVC’s right on the border with Concord. I suppose you could argue it’s still central, though.

yeah, i’m pretty sure it is. Most of the municipal stuff, county wise, there is considered central. Concord is still central, actually—in fact, it is almost exactly in the middle of the county. I don’t think you get to east until you get to pittsburgh (the geographical divide is significant)—and that area is when the municipal entities are east county, too.

My perceptions of eastern Contra Costa County, I think, are largely formed by the DVC campus and BART. When I was a kid, Concord was the end of the line on BART. Therefore, it and Pleasant Hill are eastern CoCo. Dammit.

The last time I can remember being in Pittsburg was 1998.

Wife’s out of work, Bay Area job market is beyond depressing, so we’re looking into opportunities abroad, which is something I’ve always wanted to do. One of the universities my wife used to work for (and where she still has a lot of connections) has a campus is Qatar and a job opening that’s right up her alley, so she’s applying.

How does July 23rd look for next season?
That would be earlier in the season – I know someone suggested June… but there really wasn’t anything in June that looked doable.

There actually is another website where I used to be regularly mistaken for female. I used the username ravana, which is a (male) Hindu demon, but apparently people think it looks like a girl’s name.

If you are raised speaking a romance language, Ravana will probably sound feminine. Also, kind of like ravishing.
