Sabes

I hate Bochy, don’t get me wrong. And tonight’s lineup ain’t good. But let’s not forget who shopped for the groceries. If the pitching wasn’t historically good, would this team be better than the Nats? Pirates?

This is not a big league lineup, and hasn’t been all season. The GM needs to be held accountable.

Fire them both. Tomorrow.

But Bochy has better options on his freaking bench! He chooses Renteria, Rowand, and Aurilia.

Sabean I can deal with.

Bochy has people MORE talented than the ones he is choosing to play and making them ride the pine for absolutely no reason other than to stroke the egos of the veterans.

If he’s trying to make us all wish that Bengie was not on the team, he’s done a great job. But I think he’s just a doddering old fuckhead who thinks that these veterans can somehow pull a golden nugget from their ass when the pressure is on them. And they just have not shown the capacity to do that, and in the RARE instances when they do, they come out and suck all over the field the next day.

I really dislike Bochy’s line-ups and switches, but he is pretty decent with the pitching and in his defense he really doesn’t have a lot to work with. Don’t get me wrong, I’d prefer a manager change next year, I just don’t trust who the Giants might replace him with (the devil you know).

Both Winn and Velez are not very good (being kind) against left-handed pitching and while I would have liked to see Garko, he really hasn’t done much since joining the Giants.

yes.

this team has been wildly streaky between games over the last month. They’re either on and score 7+, or they score 0. Renteria is just dead weight in the 6 spot that quickly kills any possible momentum generated by the hottest hitter on the team.

My theory behind this is if you are terrible for one year, you are a dismal failure, if you are terrible for 10 years, you are a “longtime NHL coach”.

It is sad that during the bottom of the 9th of the most important game of the year, discussing my retarded theories about how much people will remember Wayne Gretzky sucked is way more interesting than watching the game.

by sprdelfin on Sep 16, 2009 9:55 PM PDT up reply actions

Except that in his four-five years of coaching, the Coyotes have yet to make the playoffs and have not placed higher than 4th in the Pacific division. And that’s only because the Kings have been pure crap the past few years. He has no system (likely because he never needed one when he played), and is more of a gimmick than a coach. He’s a great player, but a lousy coach.

And yes, it is sad. Although I have found that I tend to derail every thread with some sort of hockey-related topic.
